Arcanine-Hisui leads to threaten Aegislash (Headsmash 4x), Corviknight (2x), Gholdengo (2x), and Dragapult (Extremespeed priority). Gholdengo backs up vs Rotom-Wash (Make It Rain 2x) and provides Steel/Ghost bulk. Clefable handles Dragon-types (Moonblast 2x) and can Calm Mind sweep. Opponent likely leads Aegislash or Corviknight.

    Reasoning trace (627 words)
Let me analyze the opponent's team and figure out the best 3 Pokémon to bring.

    Opponent's team:
    - Rotom-Wash (Electric/Water) - Levitate
    - Aegislash (Steel/Ghost) - Stance Change
    - Dragapult (Dragon/Ghost) - Clear Body/Infiltrator/Cursed Body
    - Corviknight (Flying/Steel) - Pressure/Unnerve/Mirror Armor
    - Gholdengo (Steel/Ghost) - Good as Gold
    - Ditto (Normal) - Limber/Imposter

    My team options:
    - Gholdengo (Steel/Ghost) - Life Orb, Good as Gold
    - Corviknight (Flying/Steel) - Leftovers, Pressure
    - Arcanine-Hisui (Fire/Rock) - Chople Berry, Rock Head
    - Rotom-Wash (Electric/Water) - Sitrus Berry, Levitate
    - Clefable (Fairy) - Lum Berry, Unaware
    - Dragapult (Dragon/Ghost) - Expert Belt, Infiltrator

    Key threats to consider:
    1. Aegislash - Steel/Ghost, Stance Change. Gholdengo can't hit it super effectively (both are Steel/Ghost). Arcanine-Hisui's Headsmash (Rock) hits it super effectively. Clefable's Moonblast hits it super effectively.
    2. Dragapult - Dragon/Ghost, very fast. Shadow Ball from Gholdengo hits it. Arcanine-Hisui's Extremespeed can hit it first.
    3. Corviknight - Flying/Steel. Arcanine-Hisui's Headsmash hits super effectively. Rotom-Wash's Hydropump hits super effectively.
    4. Gholdengo - Steel/Ghost. Arcanine-Hisui's Headsmash/Flare Blitz hits super effectively.
    5. Rotom-Wash - Electric/Water. Gholdengo's Make It Rain hits super effectively.
    6. Ditto - Can transform into anything. Need to be careful.

Let me think about what 3 to bring:

Arcanine-Hisui is great against Aegislash (Headsmash 4x super effective), Corviknight (Headsmash 2x), and Gholdengo (Headsmash 2x). It's a strong offensive pick.

Gholdengo is great against Corviknight (Make It Rain 2x), Aegislash (neutral), and can handle most things with its typing.

Dragapult is fast and hits hard with Dracometeor (Dragon) against Aegislash (neutral), Corviknight (neutral), and can use Shadow Ball against Gholdengo and Aegislash.

Clefable with Unaware is great against setup sweepers and can Calm Mind up. Moonblast hits Aegislash and Dragapult super effectively.

Rotom-Wash is good against Corviknight (Hydropump 2x) and can Will-O-Wisp physical attackers.

    Let me think about coverage:

    Option 1: Arcanine-Hisui, Gholdengo, Clefable
    - Arcanine-Hisui: hits Aegislash, Corviknight, Gholdengo super effectively
    - Gholdengo: hits Corviknight, Aegislash, Rotom-Wash
    - Clefable: hits Aegislash, Dragapult super effectively

This covers most threats well. Arcanine-Hisui handles the Steel/Ghost types, Clefable handles Dragon/Ghost, and Gholdengo handles Fairy and Flying/Steel.

    Option 2: Arcanine-Hisui, Gholdengo, Dragapult
    - Arcanine-Hisui: Aegislash, Corviknight, Gholdengo
    - Gholdengo: Corviknight, Aegislash, Rotom-Wash
    - Dragapult: fast, hits Aegislash, Corviknight

    Option 3: Arcanine-Hisui, Clefable, Dragapult
    - Good coverage but less bulk

I think Arcanine-Hisui + Gholdengo + Clefable is a solid core. Arcanine-Hisui leads to threaten Aegislash and Corviknight. Gholdengo can handle Corviknight and Aegislash. Clefable handles Dragapult and can set up against slower opponents.

Actually, let me reconsider. The opponent has Dragapult which is very fast. Arcanine-Hisui with Extremespeed can hit it first. Clefable with Unaware can handle setup sweepers.

I'll go with: Arcanine-Hisui (lead), Gholdengo, Clefable

Arcanine-Hisui leads because it can threaten Aegislash and Corviknight immediately. Gholdengo provides Steel/Ghost coverage. Clefable provides Fairy coverage against Dragon types and can set up.

Wait, let me reconsider the lead. If they lead Aegislash, Arcanine-Hisui can Headsmash it. If they lead Corviknight, Arcanine-Hisui can Headsmash it. If they lead Gholdengo, Arcanine-Hisui can Headsmash it. If they lead Dragapult, Arcanine-Hisui can Extremespeed it. If they lead Rotom-Wash, Arcanine-Hisui is weak to Water so maybe switch to Gholdengo.

Actually, if they lead Rotom-Wash, Gholdengo's Make It Rain hits super effectively. So maybe Gholdengo should lead?

Let me think about what the opponent might lead with. They have Aegislash, Dragapult, Corviknight, Gholdengo, Rotom-Wash, Ditto.

If they lead Aegislash - Arcanine-Hisui Headsmash 4x
If they lead Dragapult - Arcanine-Hisui Extremespeed
If they lead Corviknight - Arcanine-Hisui Headsmash 2x
If they lead Gholdengo - Arcanine-Hisui Headsmash 2x
If they lead Rotom-Wash - Gholdengo Make It Rain 2x

Arcanine-Hisui as lead seems great because it covers most potential leads. If they lead Rotom-Wash, I can switch to Gholdengo.

Final decision: Arcanine-Hisui (lead), Gholdengo, Clefable

Dragapult outspeeds Arcanine-Hisui (145-213 vs 142). Headsmash is 4x but I move second and will likely be KO'd. Switching to Gholdengo: immune to Dragon (Ghost), resists Ghost (Steel), and Make It Rain is 2x on Dragon. Plan: Gholdengo vs Dragapult, use Make It Rain next turn.

    Reasoning trace (241 words)
    Let me analyze this situation:

    - My Arcanine-Hisui (142 Spe) is out vs their Dragapult (145-213 Spe)
    - Dragapult outspeeds me, so I can't reliably use Headsmash first
    - Headsmash is 4x super effective on Dragapult (Rock vs Dragon/Ghost = 2x on Dragon, 2x on Ghost = 4x)
    - But Dragapult will move first and can OHKO me with a Dragon-type move or similar
    - Extremespeed is priority but does nothing to Ghost-types
    - Flareblitz is not very effective on Dragon-types (1x on Ghost, 0.5x on Dragon = 0.5x total)

    My options:
    1. Headsmash - 4x SE but I move second, Dragapult will likely KO me first
    2. Flareblitz - NVE, bad idea
    3. Extremespeed - No effect on Ghost
    4. Morningsun - Healing, but Dragapult can still KO me
    5. Switch to Gholdengo - Steel/Ghost, immune to Dragon moves (Ghost immunity) and resists everything Dragapult can throw
    6. Switch to Clefable - Fairy, immune to Dragon, but weak to Ghost moves (Shadow Ball)

Gholdengo is the best switch here. It's immune to Dragon-type attacks (Ghost immunity) and resists Ghost moves (Steel resists Ghost). It also has Make It Rain which is super effective against Dragapult (Steel vs Dragon = 2x).

Actually wait - Gholdengo is Steel/Ghost. Dragon moves are immune on Ghost types. Ghost moves are resisted by Steel. So Gholdengo has a perfect matchup against Dragapult.

I should switch to Gholdengo and then use Make It Rain next turn.
  3. Turn 2

Gholdengo vs Dragapult. Shadow Ball is 2x super effective (Ghost vs Ghost). Make It Rain is neutral and drops SpA by 2 - bad. Focus Blast does nothing on Ghost. Dragapult may outspeed (145-213 vs my 149) but Thunderbolt only did 52 dmg. Shadow Ball + LO + STAB should OHKO or come very close. If Dragapult switches, I maintain pressure.

    Reasoning trace (496 words)
    Let me analyze the situation:

    - My Gholdengo (110/162 HP, 67.9%) with Life Orb is facing Dragapult (100% HP)
    - Dragapult has Thunderbolt revealed, and could have other moves
    - Speed: My Gholdengo is 149, Dragapult is 145-213. Dragapult could outspeed me.
    - Dragapult is Dragon/Ghost type.

    Key considerations:
    - Make It Rain is Steel/Special, 120 BP. Against Dragon/Ghost, Steel is neutral (not super effective). Wait, let me check: Steel vs Dragon = neutral, Steel vs Ghost = neutral. So Make It Rain is neutral on Dragapult.
    - Shadow Ball is Ghost/Special, 80 BP. Ghost vs Ghost = super effective (2x). So Shadow Ball is 2x on Dragapult.
    - Focus Blast is Fighting/Special, 120 BP. Fighting vs Ghost = no effect (immune). So Focus Blast does nothing.

    So Shadow Ball is the best offensive option here - 80 BP * 2x super effective = effectively 160 BP before STAB. With STAB (1.5x) and Life Orb (1.3x), that's 80 * 1.5 * 1.3 * 2 = 312 effective power.

Make It Rain: 120 * 1.5 (STAB) * 1.3 (LO) * 1 (neutral) = 234 effective power, but it lowers my SpA by 2 stages which is terrible.

So Shadow Ball is clearly the best move here.

But wait - Dragapult might outspeed me and hit hard. It has Thunderbolt which is neutral on Gholdengo (Electric vs Steel/Ghost = neutral). It could also have Dragon moves (immune due to Ghost typing), Fire Punch (neutral), etc.

Actually, let me reconsider. Dragapult's Thunderbolt did 52 damage to Gholdengo (162-110=52). So it's not super effective, just neutral. Dragapult might switch out if it's not a good matchup, or it might stay in and try to OHKO.

If Dragapult stays and attacks, I need to consider if I can survive. Gholdengo is at 110/162. If Dragapult uses something neutral, it might do around 50-80 damage. Shadow Ball with Life Orb recoil would bring me to 110 - 16 = 94 HP after the recoil, then I'd need to survive the next hit.

Actually, I should just use Shadow Ball. It's super effective, and if Dragapult switches, I can still apply pressure. If it stays and hits me, I might survive depending on the move.

Let me also consider: should I switch to Clefable? Clefable resists Dragon and is neutral to Ghost. But Dragapult has Thunderbolt which is neutral on Fairy. Clefable could Calm Mind up. But Gholdengo with Shadow Ball is a strong option here.

I'll go with Shadow Ball. It's 2x super effective, and even if Dragapult outspeeds and hits, I should be able to survive one neutral hit and potentially OHKO Dragapult with Shadow Ball + Life Orb + STAB.

Let me calculate: Shadow Ball damage = 80 * 1.5 (STAB) * 1.3 (LO) * 2 (SE) = 312. With my SpA of 185, this should do significant damage. Against Dragapult's SpD of 85-139, this should be a solid hit, possibly OHKO or close to it.

Gholdengo at 46/162 with LO. Opposing Gholdengo full HP. Shadow Ball is 2x (Ghost vs Ghost) and my SpA is maxed (185). Damage calc shows ~170-264 vs 162-194 HP — very likely OHKO or close. Speed tie possible (both 149 max). If I don't OHKO, I die next turn but they're at low HP for Arcanine/Clefable to finish. Switching to Arcanine risks Make It Rain OHKO (327 dmg vs 172 HP). Best to commit with Shadow Ball.

    Reasoning trace (2,119 words)
    Let me analyze the situation:

    - My Gholdengo is at 46/162 HP (28.4%) with Life Orb active
    - Opponent's Gholdengo is at full HP (100%)
    - Both are Steel/Ghost type

    Key considerations:
    1. My Gholdengo is very low HP. Life Orb recoil after attacking will likely kill it (162/10 = 16.2 HP lost per attack).
    2. Shadow Ball is super effective on the opposing Gholdengo (Ghost vs Ghost).
    3. Make It Rain is not very effective (Steel vs Steel/Ghost) and drops SpA by 2 - terrible option.
    4. Focus Blast does nothing on Ghost type.
    5. Nasty Plot could boost SpA but I'm at 46 HP - if I set up and they attack, I die.

The opposing Gholdengo has unknown moves but likely has Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, and maybe Nasty Plot or similar.

    If I use Shadow Ball:
    - It's super effective (2x)
    - My SpA is 185, with Life Orb 1.3x boost
    - Shadow Ball base 80, STAB 1.5x, SE 2x, LO 1.3x = 80 * 1.5 * 2 * 1.3 = 312 effective power
    - Opposing Gholdengo has Def 103-161, SpD 99-157
    - At level 50, damage formula: ((2*50/5 + 2) * 80 * 185/100) / 157 * 1.5 * 2 * 1.3 = roughly... let me think more carefully.
    - Damage = ((2*50/5 + 2) * 80 * 185 / 100) / SpD * modifiers
    - = (22 * 80 * 185 / 100) / SpD * 1.5 * 2 * 1.3
    - = 32560 / SpD * 3.9
    - If SpD = 157: 32560/157 * 3.9 = 207.4 * 3.9 = ~809... that can't be right.
    - Let me recalculate: ((2*50/5 + 2) * 80 * 185 / 100) = (22 * 80 * 185) / 100 = 325600 / 100 = 3256
    - Then / SpD: 3256 / 157 = 20.74 (if max SpD) or 3256 / 99 = 32.9 (if min SpD)
    - Then * STAB * SE * LO: 20.74 * 1.5 * 2 * 1.3 = 80.9 (max SpD) or 32.9 * 1.5 * 2 * 1.3 = 128.3 (min SpD)
    - Opposing Gholdengo HP: 162-194

So Shadow Ball does roughly 81-128 damage to the opposing Gholdengo. That's not enough to OHKO even at minimum SpD (194 HP vs 128 damage).

Wait, but my SpA is 185 (max). The opposing Gholdengo's SpD could be as low as 99. Let me recalculate more carefully.

    Actually, the damage formula is:
    Damage = ((((2 * Level / 5) + 2) * Power * A / D) / 50 + 2) * modifiers

    Level 50, Power 80, A = 185 (my SpA), D = opposing SpD (99-157)

    = ((((2 * 50 / 5) + 2) * 80 * 185 / D) / 50 + 2) * modifiers
    = ((22 * 80 * 185 / D) / 50 + 2) * modifiers
    = ((325600 / D) / 50 + 2) * modifiers
    = (6512 / D + 2) * modifiers

    If D = 157: 6512/157 + 2 = 41.48 + 2 = 43.48
    If D = 99: 6512/99 + 2 = 65.78 + 2 = 67.78

    Modifiers: STAB (1.5) * SE (2.0) * LO (1.3) = 3.9

    If D = 157: 43.48 * 3.9 = 169.6
    If D = 99: 67.78 * 3.9 = 264.3

    Opposing Gholdengo HP: 162-194

So Shadow Ball does 170-264 damage. Against a max SpD Gholdengo (162 HP), that's a guaranteed OHKO! Against a lower HP Gholdengo with lower SpD... wait, those are correlated.

Actually, the HP and SpD ranges are independent. The opposing Gholdengo could have 194 HP and 157 SpD, or 162 HP and 99 SpD, etc.

Worst case for me: 194 HP, 157 SpD → damage ~170, not OHKO.
Best case: 162 HP, 99 SpD → damage ~264, OHKO.

So it's not guaranteed. But it's very likely to OHKO or come close.

However, the bigger issue is: if I use Shadow Ball and don't OHKO, the opposing Gholdengo will likely KO me with Shadow Ball or Make It Rain. And Life Orb recoil (16 HP) means I'll be at 30 HP after attacking, which is very dangerous.

    If I switch to Arcanine-Hisui:
    - Arcanine-Hisui is Fire/Rock, weak to Steel (Make It Rain 2x) and Ghost (Shadow Ball 2x)
    - But it has 172 HP and can take a hit
    - Headsmash is super effective on Gholdengo (Rock vs Steel) - 2x
    - Arcanine-Hisui Atk 183, Headsmash 150 power, STAB 1.5, SE 2x = massive damage
    - But Arcanine-Hisui takes recoil from Headsmash (1/3 of max HP = 57 HP)

Actually wait - Arcanine-Hisui is weak to both Steel and Ghost moves from Gholdengo. Headsmash is 2x super effective (Rock vs Steel/Ghost). Let me check: Rock is super effective against Steel and Fire and Ice. Yes, Rock hits Steel super effectively.

    So Arcanine-Hisui vs Gholdengo:
    - Arcanine-Hisui resists nothing from Gholdengo (Steel and Ghost are both neutral on Fire/Rock... wait no)
    - Fire/Rock vs Steel: Steel is neutral on Fire, super effective on Rock. So Steel moves hit Arcanine-Hisui super effectively.
    - Fire/Rock vs Ghost: Ghost is neutral on Fire, neutral on Rock. So Ghost moves hit Arcanine-Hisui neutrally.
    - Arcanine-Hisui's Headsmash: Rock vs Steel/Ghost → super effective on Steel, neutral on Ghost → 2x total.

Headsmash damage: Power 150, Atk 183, STAB 1.5, SE 2x = huge. But 1/3 recoil.

Actually, let me reconsider. My Gholdengo at 46 HP with Life Orb is in a bad spot. If I attack and don't KO, I die to the next hit. If I switch, I preserve Gholdengo but give the opponent a free turn.

Let me think about what's best:

Option 1: Shadow Ball with Gholdengo
    - ~170-264 damage to opposing Gholdengo
    - If it doesn't OHKO, I take a hit and die (I'm at 46, after LO I'm at 30, and opposing Gholdengo will KO me)
    - Risk: very high if opposing Gholdengo has max SpD and max HP

    Option 2: Switch to Arcanine-Hisui
    - Arcanine-Hisui can take a Shadow Ball (neutral, ~70-90 damage based on opposing SpA 137-203)
    - Then Headsmash for massive damage
    - But opposing Gholdengo might use Make It Rain (2x on Rock) which could do heavy damage
    - Make It Rain: Power 120, SpA 137-203, SE 2x on Rock → very dangerous

    Option 3: Switch to Clefable
    - Clefable resists both Steel and Ghost (Fairy resists Fighting and Bug... wait no)
    - Fairy vs Steel: neutral. Fairy vs Ghost: neutral.
    - Actually Clefable doesn't resist either. But it has 202 HP and good bulk.
    - Clefable can Calm Mind and Moonblast (neutral on Gholdengo)
    - Not ideal matchup

I think switching to Arcanine-Hisui is the best option. Even though Make It Rain is 2x on Rock, Arcanine-Hisui has 172 HP and can take one hit. Then Headsmash will likely OHKO the opposing Gholdengo.

Wait, but the opposing Gholdengo might not have Make It Rain. It could have Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, Nasty Plot, etc.

Actually, let me reconsider staying in with Gholdengo. Shadow Ball is 2x and my SpA is maxed at 185. The damage calculation shows 170-264. The opposing Gholdengo has 162-194 HP. So:
    - If opposing Gholdengo has 162 HP (min), damage 170-264 → guaranteed OHKO
    - If opposing Gholdengo has 194 HP (max) and 157 SpD (max), damage ~170 → not OHKO
    - If opposing Gholdengo has 194 HP and 99 SpD, damage ~264 → OHKO

The question is whether the opposing Gholdengo is likely to have max HP and max SpD. In competitive play, Gholdengo often runs a defensive spread or a mixed spread. It's possible but not certain.

Given the risk, I think switching to Arcanine-Hisui is safer. Arcanine-Hisui can take a hit and then OHKO with Headsmash. The risk is Make It Rain doing heavy damage, but even then Arcanine-Hisui should survive one hit with 172 HP.

Actually, let me recalculate Make It Rain damage to Arcanine-Hisui:
Power 120, opposing SpA 137-203, SE 2x (Steel on Rock), my Def 100
    = ((((2*50/5+2) * 120 * 203 / 100) / 50 + 2) * 1.5 * 2)
    = ((22 * 120 * 203 / 100) / 50 + 2) * 3
    = ((53592 / 50) + 2) * 3
    = (1071.84 + 2) * 3
    = 1073.84 * 3
= 3221... that's way too high. I'm messing up the formula.

    Let me redo:
    Damage = ((((2 * Level / 5) + 2) * Power * A / D) / 50 + 2) * modifiers
    = ((((2 * 50 / 5) + 2) * 120 * 203 / 100) / 50 + 2) * 1.5 * 2
    = ((22 * 120 * 203 / 100) / 50 + 2) * 3
    = ((535920 / 100) / 50 + 2) * 3
    = (5359.2 / 50 + 2) * 3
    = (107.18 + 2) * 3
    = 109.18 * 3
    = 327.5

That's way more than Arcanine-Hisui's 172 HP! So Make It Rain would OHKO Arcanine-Hisui!

OK so switching to Arcanine-Hisui is actually very risky if the opposing Gholdengo has Make It Rain.

    What about Clefable?
Clefable (Fairy) vs Steel: neutral. vs Ghost: neutral.
Make It Rain damage to Clefable:
    = ((22 * 120 * 203 / 137) / 50 + 2) * 1.5
    = ((535920 / 137) / 50 + 2) * 1.5
    = (3911.8 / 50 + 2) * 1.5
    = (78.2 + 2) * 1.5

    = 120.3

Clefable has 202 HP, so it survives Make It Rain. And Clefable can Moonblast back (neutral) or Calm Mind up.

But Clefable's Moonblast won't do much to Gholdengo (Fairy is neutral on Steel/Ghost).

Hmm, this is tricky. Let me reconsider.

The real question is: what does the opposing Gholdengo likely have?

    Common Gholdengo sets:
    - Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, Nasty Plot
    - Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Recover, Nasty Plot
    - Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Trick, Nasty Plot

It probably has Make It Rain (it's Gholdengo's signature move and best STAB).

If I stay with Gholdengo and use Shadow Ball:
    - I deal 170-264 damage
    - If OHKO, great!
    - If not OHKO, I take a hit (probably Shadow Ball or Make It Rain) and die
    - Even if I don't OHKO, I might get close enough that the opponent has to be careful

    If I switch to Clefable:
    - Clefable survives any hit from Gholdengo
    - But Clefable can't do much damage back (Moonblast is neutral)
    - I can Calm Mind up over time though

    If I switch to Arcanine-Hisui:
    - Risk of Make It Rain OHKO
    - But if it's Shadow Ball instead, Arcanine-Hisui takes ~100-130 damage and survives
    - Then Headsmash OHKOs Gholdengo

Given the uncertainty, I think the best play is to use Shadow Ball with Gholdengo. Here's why:
    - It's very likely to OHKO or come close (170-264 vs 162-194 HP)
    - Even if it doesn't OHKO, I might get lucky with the damage roll
    - The opponent might not expect me to stay in at 46 HP
    - If I switch, I give them a free turn to set up Nasty Plot or recover

Actually, I realize I should think about this more carefully. The opposing Gholdengo just came in at full HP. If it has max SpD (157) and max HP (194), my Shadow Ball does ~170 damage, leaving it at ~24 HP. Then it can attack me and I die, but it's at 24 HP. Then my next Pokémon can clean up.

If it has lower SpD, I OHKO directly.

The expected value of Shadow Ball seems good. Let me go with Shadow Ball.

Wait, one more consideration: speed. My Gholdengo has 149 Spe. The opposing Gholdengo has 93-149 Spe. If it's fully invested (149), we speed tie. If it's not, I move first. If it has a Choice Scarf... wait, it has unknown_item. Could be Choice Scarf, which would make it faster.

If the opposing Gholdengo moves first with Shadow Ball or Make It Rain:
    - Shadow Ball: Power 80, SpA 137-203, SE 2x, my SpD 113
      = ((22 * 80 * 203 / 113) / 50 + 2) * 1.5 * 2
      = ((357280 / 113) / 50 + 2) * 3
      = (3161.8 / 50 + 2) * 3
      = (63.2 + 2) * 3
      = 65.2 * 3
      = 195.6
That would OHKO my Gholdengo (46 HP)!

    - Make It Rain: Power 120, SpA 137-203, NVE 0.5x (Steel on Steel), my SpD 113
      = ((22 * 120 * 203 / 113) / 50 + 2) * 1.5 * 0.5
      = ((535920 / 113) / 50 + 2) * 0.75
      = (4742.7 / 50 + 2) * 0.75

Gholdengo at 30HP can't survive Rotom-Wash. Switch to Clefable: 202HP, Calm Mind setup, Moonblast neutral. Lumberry cures Will-O-Wisp. After CM, Moonblast OHKOs. Arcanine-Hisui saved for Aegislash (Headsmash 2x). Rotom-Wash speed uncertain (95-151) but Clefable is slow anyway, no speed tie concern.

    Reasoning trace (528 words)
    Let me analyze the situation:

    - My Gholdengo is at 30/162 HP (18.5%) with Life Orb
    - Opponent has Rotom-Wash at full HP (Electric/Water, Levitate)
    - I need to decide what to do

    Key considerations:
    1. Gholdengo is at 30 HP. Any hit from Rotom-Wash (Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, etc.) will likely KO it.
    2. Rotom-Wash is Electric/Water. My moves against it:
       - Make It Rain: Steel, 1/4x effectiveness (Steel vs Water/Electric = 0.5x, but it's listed as 1/4x). At 30 HP with LO recoil, this is useless.
       - Shadow Ball: Ghost vs Electric/Water = neutral (1x). Not super effective.
       - Focus Blast: Fighting vs Electric/Water = neutral (1x). 70% accuracy is risky.
       - Nasty Plot: Would boost SpA but I'm at 30 HP and likely die.

    3. Rotom-Wash has Levitate, so Ground moves don't work. My Gholdengo's Steel moves are 1/4x on it.

    4. Speed: My Gholdengo is 149, Rotom-Wash is 95-151. It could outspeed me.

    5. If I stay in with Gholdengo at 30 HP, I'm very likely to be KO'd by any attack from Rotom-Wash. Even if I attack first, Shadow Ball won't OHKO a full HP Rotom-Wash.

Let me calculate Shadow Ball damage: 80 BP, STAB (1.5x), LO (1.3x), SpA 185 vs Rotom-Wash's SpD (114-174). This is neutral, so probably does around 100-150 damage to a 125-157 HP Rotom-Wash. Not an OHKO.

    Best option: Switch out.
    - Arcanine-Hisui: Fire/Rock. Water is 2x, Electric is neutral. Rotom-Wash's Hydro Pump would do 2x. But Arcanine has 172 HP and can take a hit. Headsmash is Rock (neutral vs Water/Electric), Flare Blitz is Fire (neutral vs Electric, 2x vs... no, Water resists Fire). Actually Fire vs Water/Electric = 1x (Water resists Fire, Electric is neutral). So Flare Blitz is neutral. Headsmash is neutral too. Hmm, Arcanine doesn't have a super effective move against Rotom-Wash.

    - Clefable: Fairy type. Water/Electric are neutral to Fairy. Moonblast is neutral. But Clefable has 202 HP, can tank hits, and has Calm Mind to set up. Also Thunderwave for speed control.

Actually, let me reconsider. Rotom-Wash's common moves: Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, Will-O-Wisp, Volt Switch, Pain Split. Clefable with Unaware is great here - it ignores stat changes, can Calm Mind up, and has 202 HP to tank.

Arcanine-Hisui: 2x weak to Water (Hydro Pump), but has 172 HP. Could take one hit and then use Headsmash (neutral) or Flare Blitz (neutral). Not great matchup.

Clefable seems like the best switch. It resists nothing but takes neutral hits, has high HP, Calm Mind setup, and Moonlight recovery. Against Rotom-Wash, Clefable can set up Calm Mind and sweep.

Wait - Rotom-Wash has Will-O-Wisp potentially, but Clefable is Fairy (not Steel), so Will-O-Wisp would burn it. That's bad. But Clefable has Lumberry which cures status once.

Actually, Rotom-Wash commonly runs Hydro Pump, Volt Switch, Will-O-Wisp, Pain Split or Thunderbolt. The burn would hurt Clefable's physical attacks but Moonblast is special, so it's fine.

I'll switch to Clefable. It can set up Calm Mind against Rotom-Wash and has the bulk to survive.

Plan: Switch to Clefable, set up Calm Mind, then sweep with Moonblast. Arcanine-Hisui is my backup for Aegislash (Headsmash is 2x on Steel/Ghost).

Opponent brought only Dragapult, Gholdengo, Rotom-Wash. All fainted except Rotom-Wash. Just need to beat Rotom-Wash. Clefable with Unaware ignores Rotom's stat changes; CM boosts my own SpA/SpD. Will-O-Wisp is useless against special attacker. Plan: Calm Mind 1-2x, then Moonblast to OHKO. Rotom-Wash Thunderbolt did 78 dmg; Hydro Pump could do more but still survivable with CM SpD boost.

    Reasoning trace (925 words)
    Let me analyze the situation:

    - My Clefable is at 124/202 HP (61.4%)
    - Opponent's Rotom-Wash is at full HP (100%)
    - Rotom-Wash has Thunderbolt revealed, and it's Electric/Water type
    - Clefable is Fairy type - neutral to Electric, neutral to Water
    - Rotom-Wash has Levitate (immune to Ground)
    - My Clefable has Unaware (ignores stat stages when taking/dealing damage)

    Key considerations:
    1. Rotom-Wash likely has Will-O-Wisp (burns physical attackers, but Clefable is special so it doesn't matter much). It could also have Hydro Pump, Volt Switch, etc.
    2. Clefable's Unaware means it ignores stat changes - so Calm Mind boosts from Rotom-Wash won't matter, and my own Calm Mind boosts WILL matter (Unaware only affects the opponent's stat changes when dealing/taking damage... wait, let me reconsider).

Actually, Unaware: "This Pokémon ignores other Pokémon's stat stages when taking or doing damage." So when Clefable deals damage, it ignores the opponent's stat changes. When Clefable takes damage, it ignores the attacker's stat changes. This means Calm Mind on Clefable still works for its own offense (it's not "other Pokémon's stat stages").

Wait, no. Unaware means Clefable ignores OTHER Pokémon's stat stages. So:
    - When dealing damage: Clefable ignores the target's stat stages (so if Rotom-Wash raises its SpA, it doesn't matter for Clefable's damage calculation... actually that's about the attacker's stats, not defender's). Let me think more carefully.

Unaware: When this Pokémon is the attacker, it ignores the target's defensive stat stages. When this Pokémon is the defender, it ignores the attacker's offensive stat stages.

So Calm Mind on Clefable still boosts its own SpA (that's its own stat, not "other"). Good.

    3. Rotom-Wash's likely moveset: Thunderbolt, Will-O-Wisp, Hydro Pump/Volt Switch, maybe Pain Split or Trick.

    4. What should I do?
    - Calm Mind: Sets up SpA and SpD. Since I have Unaware, the SpD boost doesn't help against stat changes, but the SpA boost helps my Moonblast damage. However, Rotom-Wash could Will-O-Wisp me (burn doesn't affect special attackers much) or hit me with Thunderbolt/Hydro Pump.
    - Moonblast: Neutral damage to Rotom-Wash. At base SpA (115), Moonblast does moderate damage. After Calm Mind, it does much more.
    - Thunderwave: Paralyzes Rotom-Wash, slowing it down. But Rotom-Wash is already faster than Clefable (95-151 vs 80), so paralysis would help. However, Rotom-Wash might be a Volt Switch user, and paralysis doesn't help against status immunity.
    - Moonlight: Heals. At 61.4% HP, this could be useful.

The plan from earlier notes: "After CM, Moonblast OHKOs." Let me verify:
    - Clefable SpA 115, Moonblast BP 95, STAB (1.5x), neutral (1x)
    - Rotom-Wash SpD 114-174

    After one Calm Mind: SpA becomes 115 * 1.5 = 172.5
    Damage ≈ (172.5 * 95 * 1.5) / (SpD) * some factor

Actually let me use a rough damage calc:
    Base damage = (2 * 50 / 5 + 2) * SpA * BP / SpD / 50 + 2
    = 22 * 172.5 * 95 * 1.5 / SpD / 50 + 2

Hmm, this is getting complex. Let me just think about what's best strategically.

    The opponent has:
    - Rotom-Wash (active, full HP)
    - Aegislash (not yet seen in battle, but brought)
    - Corviknight (not yet seen, but brought)

Wait, the opponent brought 3 of 6. Let me re-read: "The opponent brought 3 of the 6 it showed at team preview: all have been seen."

So the opponent brought: Dragapult (fainted), Gholdengo (fainted), Rotom-Wash (active). That's their 3.

So I only need to beat Rotom-Wash! Aegislash and Corviknight are NOT in the game.

This changes things significantly. I just need to beat Rotom-Wash.

Rotom-Wash is Electric/Water. Clefable is Fairy - neutral to both. Rotom-Wash is neutral to Moonblast.

    My options:
    1. Calm Mind first, then Moonblast. This is the standard setup play. Rotom-Wash might Will-O-Wisp (doesn't hurt special attacker much) or hit with Thunderbolt/Hydro Pump.
    2. Thunderwave to slow it down, then set up or attack.
    3. Just Moonblast now.

Given that Rotom-Wash is the last Pokémon, I want to make sure I don't lose. Calm Mind + Moonblast should work. After one CM, Moonblast should do significant damage. After two CMs, it should OHKO.

But I need to be careful about Rotom-Wash's damage output. Thunderbolt did 78 damage (202-124=78) to Clefable. If Rotom-Wash has Hydro Pump, that could do more (Water is neutral to Fairy).

Actually wait - Thunderbolt is super effective against Water types? No, Electric is super effective against Water. But Clefable is Fairy, not Water. So Thunderbolt is neutral against Clefable. The 78 damage from Thunderbolt at Rotom-Wash's SpA (112-172) against Clefable's SpD (112) makes sense.

If Rotom-Wash has Hydro Pump (BP 110, Water), that's also neutral against Fairy. Could do more damage than Thunderbolt.

Strategy: Calm Mind is the best play. I need to boost my SpA to break through Rotom-Wash. The SpD boost also helps me take hits. After 1-2 Calm Minds, Moonblast should be very strong.

Risk: Rotom-Wash could Will-O-Wisp me. But Clefable is a special attacker, so burn only reduces damage by half if it were physical. For special moves, burn doesn't reduce damage. Wait, actually in modern Pokémon (Gen 8+), burn reduces physical damage by 50% but doesn't affect special damage. So Will-O-Wisp is mostly useless against Clefable.

Actually, Will-O-Wisp does affect special attackers in one way: it prevents them from using physical moves. But Clefable only has special moves, so it doesn't matter.

So Calm Mind is safe. Let me go with that.

One concern: if Rotom-Wash has Trick, it could steal my Lumberry. But that's unlikely given the moveset.

    Decision: Calm Mind.

Clefable at 52HP, +1 SpA/SpD. Rotom-Wash Thunderbolt does ~52 with +1 SpD, so Clefable dies if it attacks. Calm Mind brings SpD to +2 (Thunderbolt ~39), Clefable survives at 13HP. But then Moonblast at +2 SpA may not OHKO max-SpD Rotom. Moonlight heals 101HP (no weather), giving breathing room. Plan: Moonlight to heal, then Moonblast. Rotom-Wash is the last Pokémon; need to beat it carefully.

    Reasoning trace (1,817 words)
    Let me analyze the situation:

    - Clefable is at 52/202 HP (25.7%) with +1 SpA and +1 SpD
    - Rotom-Wash is at full HP with Levitate, and has used Thunderbolt twice already
    - Rotom-Wash outspeeds Clefable (95-151 vs 80)
    - Rotom-Wash's Thunderbolt did 78 damage per hit to Clefable (202 → 124 → 52)
    - With +1 SpD, Thunderbolt damage should be reduced. Let me calculate:
      - Base damage was ~78 per hit (202-124=78, 124-52=72, so roughly 72-78 per hit)
      - With +1 SpD, damage would be roughly 78/1.5 ≈ 52 per hit
      - So Clefable survives one more Thunderbolt (52 - 52 = 0, barely survives or dies)

    - Moonblast with +1 SpA: Clefable SpA is 115, +1 = 172.5 effective. Rotom-Wash has SpD 114-174.
      - Moonblast base 95, STAB 1.5x, neutral vs Water/Electric
      - Damage calc: roughly 115 * 1.5 (STAB) * 1.5 (+1 boost) * 95 / (SpD)
      - Against max SpD (174): ~95 * 1.5 * 115 * 1.5 / 174 ≈ 141... wait let me think more carefully
      - Actually the damage formula: ((2*50/5+2)*power*SpA/SpD)/50 + 2
      - With +1 SpA (1.5x): effective SpA = 115 * 1.5 = 172.5
      - Power = 95 * 1.5 (STAB) = 142.5
      - Against SpD 174: (52 * 142.5 * 172.5 / 174) / 50 + 2 ≈ (52 * 141.3) / 50 + 2 ≈ 147 + 2 ≈ 149... hmm that seems high
      - Actually let me recalculate: (2*50/5 + 2) = 22. Damage = 22 * 142.5 * 172.5 / 174 / 50 + 2 = 22 * 141.3 / 50 + 2 ≈ 3108 / 50 + 2 ≈ 64
      - Wait, that's not right either. Let me use the standard formula properly.
      - Damage = (((2*Level/5 + 2) * Power * A/SpA / B/SpD) / 50) + 2
      - Level = 50, so (2*50/5 + 2) = 22
      - Power = 95 * 1.5 (STAB) = 142.5
      - A = 115 * 1.5 (+1 boost) = 172.5
      - B = SpD of Rotom-Wash (114-174)
      - Against max SpD 174: 22 * 142.5 * 172.5 / 174 / 50 + 2 = 22 * 141.3 / 50 + 2 = 3108.6 / 50 + 2 = 62.2 + 2 = 64.2
      - Against min SpD 114: 22 * 142.5 * 172.5 / 114 / 50 + 2 = 22 * 215.6 / 50 + 2 = 4743 / 50 + 2 = 94.9 + 2 = 96.9
      - With random factor (0.85-1.0): 54-97 range vs max SpD, 82-97 vs min SpD
      - Rotom-Wash HP: 125-157
      - So Moonblast at +1 might not OHKO Rotom-Wash at max SpD (64 vs 157 HP)
      - But at +2 SpA (after another Calm Mind): effective SpA = 115 * 2 = 230
      - Against max SpD 174: 22 * 142.5 * 230 / 174 / 50 + 2 = 22 * 188.4 / 50 + 2 = 4145 / 50 + 2 = 82.9 + 2 = 84.9
      - Still not OHKO at max SpD!
      - Against min SpD 114: 22 * 142.5 * 230 / 114 / 50 + 2 = 22 * 287.5 / 50 + 2 = 6325 / 50 + 2 = 128.5
      - That would OHKO at min SpD (128.5 vs 125 HP minimum)

Hmm, so even with +2 Calm Mind, Moonblast might not OHKO a max SpD Rotom-Wash. Let me reconsider.

Wait, I need to account for the +1 SpD on Clefable reducing incoming damage. With +1 SpD, Rotom-Wash's Thunderbolt damage is reduced by 1.5x.

Thunderbolt did ~72-78 per hit at neutral SpD. With +1 SpD: ~48-52 per hit.

Clefable at 52 HP would survive one Thunderbolt (52 - 52 = 0, barely). Actually with +1 SpD it should take about 48-52, so Clefable survives at 0-4 HP. That's extremely tight.

Actually wait - Rotom-Wash could also have Hydro Pump or other moves. It's only revealed Thunderbolt so far. If it has Hydro Pump, that's 110 BP Water move, which would do more damage.

    Let me think about options:
    1. Moonblast now: deals ~54-97 damage (at +1 SpA). Rotom-Wash survives. Then Rotom-Wash Thunderbolts for ~48-52, Clefable dies (52 - 48 = 4 HP left, or 52-52=0). Actually Clefable might survive by a hair.
    2. Calm Mind again: +2 SpA, +2 SpD. Then next turn Moonblast deals ~75-130 (at +2). Rotom-Wash Thunderbolt deals ~32-35 (with +2 SpD). Clefable survives easily. Then Moonblast next turn.
    3. Moonlight: heals in no weather = 50% of max HP = 101 HP. Clefable goes to 153 HP. Then Rotom-Wash Thunderbolt for ~48-52, Clefable at ~101-105. Then Moonblast next turn.

Actually, let me reconsider the Calm Mind route:
    - Turn 6: Calm Mind (+2 SpA, +2 SpD). Rotom-Wash Thunderbolt: base ~78 / 1.5 (+1) / 1.5 (+2) ≈ 35 damage. Clefable at 52-35 = 17 HP.
    - Wait, with +2 SpD the reduction is 2x (each stage is 1.5x). So damage = 78 / 2 = 39. Clefable at 52-39 = 13 HP.
    - Turn 7: Moonblast at +2 SpA. Against max SpD Rotom: ~85 damage. Rotom at 157-85 = 72 HP. Thunderbolt: 78/2 = 39. Clefable at 13-39 = dead.

Hmm, that doesn't work well either.

    What about:
    - Turn 6: Moonblast. Deals ~54-97. Rotom survives at ~60-103 HP. Thunderbolt deals ~48-52 (with +1 SpD). Clefable at 52-52 = 0 or 52-48 = 4. Clefable barely survives or dies.

This is really tight. Let me reconsider.

Actually, the +1 SpD reduces damage by 1.5x. So Thunderbolt does 78/1.5 ≈ 52. Clefable at 52 HP takes 52 damage = 0 HP. Clefable dies.

Unless... Clefable's SpD stat is 112, and the damage calculation already factors that in. The 78 damage was the actual damage dealt. With +1 SpD, the damage would be 78/1.5 = 52. So Clefable at 52 HP takes 52 damage and dies.

So Moonblast first is too risky - Clefable dies to Thunderbolt.

    What about Calm Mind?
    - Clefable uses Calm Mind (+2 SpA, +2 SpD)
    - Rotom-Wash Thunderbolt: 78/2 = 39 damage (with +2 SpD, 2x reduction)
    - Clefable at 52-39 = 13 HP
    - Next turn: Moonblast at +2 SpA vs max SpD: ~85 damage. Rotom at 157-85 = 72.
    - Thunderbolt: 78/2 = 39. Clefable at 13-39 = dead.

Still dies. The problem is Clefable is too low HP.

    What about Moonlight?
    - No weather: heals 50% of max HP = 101 HP
    - Clefable at 52+101 = 153 HP
    - Rotom-Wash Thunderbolt: 78/1.5 = 52 (with +1 SpD). Clefable at 153-52 = 101 HP.
    - Next turn: Moonblast at +1 SpA: ~54-97 damage. Rotom survives at 60-103.
    - Thunderbolt: 52. Clefable at 101-52 = 49.
    - Then another Moonblast or Calm Mind...

This is getting complicated. Let me think about what's best.

Actually, wait. I should consider switching to Arcanine-Hisui. It's at full HP (172).
    - Arcanine-Hisui is Fire/Rock, 4x weak to Water, but neutral to Electric.
    - Rotom-Wash's Thunderbolt: neutral damage. Arcanine SpD = 100. Rotom SpA = 112-172.
    - Thunderbolt damage to Arcanine: 22 * 90 * 135 (avg SpA) / 100 / 50 + 2 ≈ 22 * 121.5 / 50 + 2 ≈ 55.5
    - Arcanine at 172-55 = 117 HP. Survives easily.
    - Arcanine can use Flare Blitz (120 BP Fire, STAB 1.5x = 180 effective power) vs Rotom-Wash's 114-174 Def.
    - Damage: 22 * 180 * 183 / 144 / 50 + 2 ≈ 22 * 228.75 / 50 + 2 ≈ 102.8
    - That's a solid hit but not OHKO.
    - Headsmash: 22 * 150 * 183 / 144 / 50 + 2 ≈ 22 * 190.6 / 50 + 2 ≈ 85.7 (neutral, Rock vs Water/Electric)
    - Actually Rock is neutral vs Water/Electric. Not great.
    - Flare Blitz is better. With +0 SpA... wait Arcanine uses physical. Atk = 183.
    - Flare Blitz: 22 * 180 * 183 / 144 / 50 + 2 ≈ 103 damage. Rotom at 157-103 = 54. Survives.
    - But Rotom-Wash is Water/Electric - Fire is neutral! Not super effective.

Hmm, Arcanine's Flare Blitz is neutral against Rotom-Wash. That's not great.

What about Clefable's Moonblast? Fairy is neutral against Water/Electric too.

So neither is super effective. The matchup is tough.

Let me reconsider. Rotom-Wash's Thunderbolt did 78 damage to Clefable (SpD 112).
    - 78 = 22 * 90 * SpA_rotom / 112 / 50 + 2
    - 76 = 22 * 90 * SpA / 112 / 50
    - 76 * 50 * 112 / (22 * 90) = SpA
    - 76 * 5600 / 1980 = SpA
    - 425600 / 1980 = 214.9... that can't be right.

Let me recalculate. The formula is:
    Damage = (((2*Level/5 + 2) * Power * A / B) / 50) + 2, then multiply by modifiers.

    2*50/5 + 2 = 22
    Power = 90 (Thunderbolt)
    A = Rotom's SpA (112-172)
    B = Clefable's SpD (112)
STAB = 1.5 (Electric type, Rotom is Electric/Water)

    Base damage = 22 * 90 * A / 112 / 50 + 2 = 22 * 90 * A / 5600 + 2 = 1980A/5600 + 2 = 0.3536A + 2

    With STAB: (0.3536A + 2) * 1.5

    For A = 172 (max): (0.3536*172 + 2) * 1.5 = (60.8 + 2) * 1.5 = 62.8 * 1.5 = 94.2
    For A = 112 (min): (0.3536*112 + 2) * 1.5 = (39.6 + 2) * 1.5 = 41.6 * 1.5 = 62.4

Actual damage was 78 per hit. So 78 is in the range, suggesting Rotom's SpA is around 140-150.

    With +1 SpD (1.5x): damage = 78/1.5 = 52. Clefable at 52 takes 52 and dies.
    With +2 SpD (2x): damage = 78/2 = 39. Clefable at 52 takes 39 and survives at 13.

OK so the Calm Mind option:
Turn 6: Calm Mind. Rotom Thunderbolt: 39. Clefable at 13.
    Turn 7: Moonblast at +2 SpA. Clefable SpA = 115*2 = 230 effective.
    - Power = 95 * 1.5 (STAB) = 142.5
    - Against Rotom SpD (114-174):
      - At 174: 22 * 142.5 * 230 / 174 / 50 + 2 = 22 * 188.4 / 50 + 2 = 84.9
      - At 114: 22 * 142.5 * 230 / 114 / 50 + 2 = 22 * 287.5 / 50 + 2 = 128.5
    - Rotom HP: 125-157. So at +2 SpA, Moonblast might OHKO at low SpD but not at high SpD.
    - If Rotom survives at ~72 HP, Thunderbolt does 39. Clefable at 13-39 = dead.

Hmm, this is really close. Let me think about Moonlight + Moonblast:

Turn 6: Moonlight. Clefable heals 101 HP → 153 HP. Rotom Thunderbolt: 52 (with +1 SpD). Clefable at 101.
Turn 7: Moonblast at +1 SpA. Damage 54-97 (vs SpD 114-174).
    - If Rotom has high SpD: 54 damage, Rotom at 157-54 = 103. Thunderbolt: 52. Clefable at 49.
    - If Rotom has low Sp

Clefable fainted. Only Rotom-Wash remains for opponent. Switch to Arcanine-Hisui (full HP, neutral to Thunderbolt). Headsmash (Rock, 183 Atk) should OHKO Rotom-Wash next turn. Gholdengo at 30HP would die to Thunderbolt.

    Reasoning trace (239 words)
Clefable fainted. I have Gholdengo at 30/162 and Arcanine-Hisui at full HP. Opponent has only Rotom-Wash left at full HP.

Rotom-Wash is Electric/Water. Arcanine-Hisui is Fire/Rock - Fire is resisted by Water, Rock is neutral to Electric/Water. Headsmash (Rock) is neutral. Flareblitz (Fire) is resisted by Water. So Headsmash is the best move.

Gholdengo at 30HP is too fragile - Rotom-Wash's Thunderbolt would likely KO it.

Arcanine-Hisui: 172 HP, 183 Atk. Headsmash (Rock, 150 BP) vs Rotom-Wash's Def 114-174. Rock is neutral against Water/Electric. With 183 Atk and 150 BP, Headsmash should do significant damage. Rotom-Wash's Thunderbolt is super effective against Arcanine-Hisui (Electric vs Fire/Rock)... wait, no. Electric is neutral against Rock, and Fire is neutral against Electric. So Thunderbolt is neutral against Arcanine-Hisui.

Actually let me check: Electric vs Fire = neutral. Electric vs Rock = neutral. So Thunderbolt is neutral against Arcanine-Hisui. Good.

Arcanine-Hisui has 172 HP, Rotom-Wash's SpA is 112-172. Thunderbolt neutral damage on Arcanine-Hisui's SpD 100... could be significant but Arcanine survives most hits.

Headsmash: 183 Atk, 150 BP, neutral. Rotom-Wash Def 114-174. This should OHKO or at least do massive damage.

Let me switch to Arcanine-Hisui and use Headsmash next turn. Actually I should just switch this turn.

Wait - Arcanine-Hisui has Chople Berry (boosts Fighting moves by 1.3x). That's useless here. But it's still the better option than Gholdengo at 30HP.

Plan: Switch to Arcanine-Hisui, then use Headsmash next turn to finish Rotom-Wash.

Arcanine-Hisui full HP vs Rotom-Wash full HP. Headsmash is Rock STAB 2x vs Water = massive damage, should OHKO. Rockhead = no recoil. Only seen Thunderbolt from Rotom-Wash (did 78 to Clefable's 112 SpD; vs Arcanine's 100 SpD ≈ 87, Arcanine survives at ~85 HP). Even if Rotom-Wash is faster, Thunderbolt won't KO Arcanine. GO HEADSMASH.

    Reasoning trace (796 words)
    Let me analyze the situation:

    - I have Arcanine-Hisui (full HP, 172/172) vs Rotom-Wash (full HP, 100%)
    - Rotom-Wash is Electric/Water type
    - Headsmash is Rock-type, super effective against Rotom-Wash (2x damage)
    - Arcanine-Hisui has 183 Atk, Headsmash is 150 BP
    - Rotom-Wash has Def 114-174, HP 125-157
    - Rockhead ability means no recoil from Headsmash
    - Speed: Arcanine 142 vs Rotom-Wash 95-151. Rotom-Wash could be faster if it has speed investment.

The issue is speed. If Rotom-Wash is faster (Spe 151), it will Thunderbolt first. Arcanine-Hisui has Def 100, SpD 100. Thunderbolt is Electric/Special, BP 90. Rotom-Wash SpA is 112-172.

Let me calculate: Thunderbolt damage to Arcanine-Hisui.
    - Rotom-Wash SpA: max 172 (with +6 or just max investment)
    - Arcanine-Hisui SpD: 100
    - Thunderbolt is neutral (no type advantage)
    - Damage ≈ (2*50/50+2) * 90 * 172/100 / 50 + 2 ≈ 2 * 90 * 1.72 / 50 + 2 ≈ 6.2 + 2 ≈ 8.2...

Actually let me use the standard formula:
    Damage = ((2*Level/50 + 2) * Power * Atk/Def) / 50 + 2
    = ((2*50/50 + 2) * 90 * 172/100) / 50 + 2
    = (4 * 90 * 1.72) / 50 + 2
    = 619.2 / 50 + 2
    = 12.384 + 2 = ~14.4

Wait, that seems too low. Let me recalculate properly.

    Actually the formula is:
    Damage = floor(floor(floor(2*Level/50 + 2) * Power * A/D) / 50) + 2

    Level 50: 2*50/50 + 2 = 4
    4 * 90 * (SpA/SpD) / 50 + 2

If Rotom-Wash has max SpA (172) and Arcanine has base SpD (100):
    4 * 90 * 172 / 100 / 50 + 2 = 4 * 90 * 1.72 / 50 + 2 = 619.2 / 50 + 2 = 12.384 + 2 ≈ 14.4

Hmm, that's way too low. I think I'm confusing the formula. Let me think again.

Actually in Pokémon, the damage formula at level 50 is:
    Damage = floor(floor(floor(2*Level/50 + 2) * Power * A/D) / 50) + 2

    With Level 50: (2*50/50 + 2) = 4
    So: floor(floor(4 * 90 * A/D) / 50) + 2

    If A = 172, D = 100:
    4 * 90 * 172 / 100 = 619.2
    619.2 / 50 = 12.384
    floor(12.384) + 2 = 14

That can't be right. I'm definitely misremembering the formula.

Let me think about this differently. In practice, a max SpA Rotom-Wash Thunderbolt against a neutral target with base 100 SpD does roughly 50-60% damage to a target with base 100 HP. Arcanine-Hisui has 172 HP and 100 SpD.

Actually, let me just think about it practically. Rotom-Wash's Thunderbolt did 78 damage to Clefable (202 HP, 112 SpD). So Thunderbolt does about 78 damage to a 112 SpD target.

    Against Arcanine-Hisui with 100 SpD, it would do more: 78 * 112/100 ≈ 87 damage. So Arcanine-Hisui at 172 HP would survive to 85 HP. That's survivable.

But wait, if Rotom-Wash has max SpA, it could do even more. The 78 damage was observed, so that's the actual damage. Against 100 SpD vs 112 SpD: 78 * 112/100 = 87.36, so about 87 damage. Arcanine survives with ~85 HP.

    Now, Headsmash against Rotom-Wash:
    - Rock is 2x super effective against Water
    - Arcanine Atk: 183, Rotom-Wash Def: 114-174
    - Headsmash BP: 150, 2x STAB (no, Rock is not STAB for Arcanine-Hisui which is Fire/Rock... wait, Arcanine-Hisui IS Fire/Rock, so Rock IS STAB!)
    - So: 150 * 1.5 (STAB) * 2 (super effective) = 450 effective power
    - With Rockhead, no recoil!

Against max Def Rotom-Wash (174): This should be a massive OHKO.
Against min Def Rotom-Wash (114): Even more OHKO.

So the plan is clear: Headsmash should OHKO Rotom-Wash. The only risk is if Rotom-Wash is faster and uses Thunderbolt first, but Arcanine survives that.

Should I use extremespeed to guarantee going first? Extremespeed is 80 BP Normal, neutral against Rotom-Wash. That won't OHKO.

Best option: Headsmash. Even if Rotom-Wash moves first with Thunderbolt, Arcanine survives (~85 HP remaining), then Headsmash OHKOs.

Actually wait - what if Rotom-Wash has Hydro Pump instead of Thunderbolt? Hydro Pump is Water/Special, BP 110. Against Rock/Fire Arcanine, Water is 2x super effective. That could be much more dangerous.

But we've only seen Thunderbolt from Rotom-Wash. And even Hydro Pump: if it did ~78*110/90*2 = ~190 damage... that would OHKO Arcanine. But we haven't seen it, and the observed Thunderbolt damage was 78 to Clefable.

Hmm, but the risk is real. If Rotom-Wash has Hydro Pump and is faster, Arcanine could OHKO. But we've seen Thunderbolt twice from this Rotom-Wash, suggesting it might be a Thunderbolt set.

I'll go with Headsmash. The expected value is good - we've only seen Thunderbolt, and even if Rotom-Wash is faster, Thunderbolt won't OHKO Arcanine-Hisui.

Gholdengo at 30 HP is my last Pokémon. Rotom-Wash at full HP (125-157). I cannot OHKO with any single move. Focus Blast does 76-114 max, not enough. Plan: Focus Blast to chip, hope Rotom uses Hydro Pump (0.5x, 26-39 dmg) so I survive at 30 HP, then finish next turn. If Thunderbolt, I die either way.

    Reasoning trace (2,192 words)
    Let me analyze the situation:

    - My Gholdengo is at 30/162 HP with Life Orb
    - Opponent's Rotom-Wash is at full HP (100%)
    - Rotom-Wash has Thunderbolt and Hydro Pump revealed
    - Gholdengo's Speed is 149, Rotom-Wash's Speed is 95-151 (either could move first)

    Key considerations:
    1. If I use Make It Rain (Steel, 120 BP): It's 1/4x on Rotom-Wash (Water/Electric resists Steel). That's terrible damage.
    2. If I use Shadow Ball (Ghost, 80 BP): Neutral damage. With 185 SpA, Life Orb boost, and 80 BP... let me estimate. Shadow Ball on Rotom-Wash: 80 * 1.3 (LO) * 185/115 (SpA/Def ratio roughly)... Actually the damage formula is complex. But Rotom-Wash has 114-174 SpD and 125-157 HP. Shadow Ball at 80 BP with 185 SpA and Life Orb... this might not OHKO.
    3. Focus Blast (Fighting, 120 BP): Neutral damage (Fighting is neutral on Electric/Water). 70% accuracy though. With 185 SpA and Life Orb at 120 BP, this could potentially OHKO.
    4. Nasty Plot: Raises SpA by 2. But I'm at 30 HP - I'll likely die to Thunderbolt or Hydro Pump before I can attack again.

Wait - I'm at 30/162 HP. Rotom-Wash's Thunderbolt did 78 damage to Clefable (who had 112 SpD). Against my Gholdengo (113 SpD), Thunderbolt would do roughly similar damage. But I'm only at 30 HP, so Thunderbolt WILL KO me.

Hydro Pump is 110 BP and super effective on Gholdengo (Steel/Ghost is weak to Water? No - Steel is weak to Water? Actually no, Steel resists Water. Ghost is neutral to Water. So Water is neutral on Gholdengo). Wait, let me reconsider. Steel resists Water, Ghost is neutral. So Water is 0.5x on Gholdengo. Thunderbolt (Electric) is super effective on Water (2x) and neutral on Ghost, so Electric is 2x on Rotom-Wash... no wait, I'm attacking Rotom-Wash with Gholdengo.

    Let me reconsider the matchup:
    - Gholdengo (Steel/Ghost) vs Rotom-Wash (Electric/Water)
    - Electric attacks on Gholdengo: Electric is neutral on Steel, neutral on Ghost = neutral. Wait no - Steel resists Electric? Let me check. Steel is neutral to Electric. Ghost is neutral to Electric. So Electric is neutral on Gholdengo.
    - Water attacks on Gholdengo: Steel resists Water, Ghost is neutral. So Water is 0.5x on Gholdengo.

So Thunderbolt is neutral on Gholdengo. At 112-172 SpA, Thunderbolt (90 BP) against Gholdengo's 113 SpD... The damage to Clefable was 78 (from SpD 112). Against Gholdengo (SpD 113), it should be similar, around 78 damage. I'm at 30 HP, so Thunderbolt WILL KO me.

If Rotom-Wash is faster (possible), it will Thunderbolt and KO me.
If I'm faster, I need to OHKO Rotom-Wash.

Shadow Ball: 80 BP, neutral on Rotom-Wash. With 185 SpA, Life Orb (1.3x), against Rotom-Wash's 114-174 SpD... Let me estimate. The damage formula roughly: (2*50/5+2) * 185/114 * 80/50 * modifiers. That's complex. But Shadow Ball at 80 BP with 185 SpA and Life Orb... against a Pokémon with potentially 174 SpD and 157 HP... it probably won't OHKO.

Focus Blast: 120 BP, neutral on Rotom-Wash. With 185 SpA, Life Orb... this has a better chance to OHKO but only 70% accuracy.

Actually, let me think about this differently. I'm at 30 HP. If I don't OHKO, I die. So I need to OHKO or switch... but I have no other Pokémon alive (Arcanine and Clefable are fainted).

Wait, I have no other Pokémon! Gholdengo is my last Pokémon. So I must attack.

    Options:
    1. Shadow Ball - neutral, probably won't OHKO (80 BP isn't enough)
    2. Focus Blast - neutral, 120 BP with 185 SpA and LO might OHKO, but 70% accuracy
    3. Make It Rain - 1/4x, definitely won't OHKO
    4. Nasty Plot - I'll die before using it

So my best option is Focus Blast. If I'm faster, I OHKO and win. If I'm slower, I die either way (since I can't survive another hit).

Actually wait - if I'm slower and Rotom-Wash uses Hydro Pump (0.5x on Gholdengo), I might survive! Hydro Pump at 110 BP * 0.5 = effective 55 BP. Against Gholdengo's 113 SpD... that might do around 50-60 damage, which would KO me at 30 HP. Actually it probably still KOs.

Hmm, but what if Rotom-Wash uses Thunderbolt? That's neutral, ~78 damage, definitely KOs me at 30 HP.

So if I'm slower, I die regardless. If I'm faster, I need to OHKO.

Focus Blast is my best bet for OHKO. 70% accuracy is risky but it's my only option.

Actually, let me reconsider Shadow Ball. 80 BP * 1.3 (LO) = effective 104. Against Rotom-Wash's SpD... Let me try to calculate more carefully.

    Damage ≈ ((2*Level/5 + 2) * Power * SpA/SpD) / 50 + 2
    = ((2*50/5 + 2) * 80 * 185/SpD) / 50 + 2
    = (22 * 80 * 185/SpD) / 50 + 2
    = (325600/SpD) / 50 + 2

    If SpD = 114: 325600/114/50 + 2 = 57.1 + 2 = 59.1 * 1.3 (LO) = 76.8
    If SpD = 174: 325600/174/50 + 2 = 37.4 + 2 = 39.4 * 1.3 = 51.2

    Rotom-Wash HP range: 125-157.

So Shadow Ball does roughly 51-77 damage. Even at best case (low SpD), 77 damage won't OHKO (minimum HP is 125). So Shadow Ball definitely won't OHKO.

Focus Blast: 120 BP instead of 80.
    = (22 * 120 * 185/SpD) / 50 + 2
    If SpD = 114: 488400/114/50 + 2 = 85.7 + 2 = 87.7 * 1.3 = 114
    If SpD = 174: 488400/174/50 + 2 = 56.1 + 2 = 58.1 * 1.3 = 75.5

So Focus Blast does roughly 76-114 damage. Against HP 125-157, it won't OHKO either!

Hmm, this is bad. I can't OHKO Rotom-Wash with any move.

Wait, but there's also the random factor (85-100% damage roll) and potential crits. Even with best rolls, Focus Blast at 114 max damage won't KO 125 HP minimum.

So I'm in a bad spot. I can't OHKO and I'll die to Thunderbolt.

What about Nasty Plot? If I'm faster, I can NP and then... but I'll still die next turn if I'm at 30 HP and they Thunderbolt.

Actually wait - if I use Nasty Plot and I'm faster, I survive this turn (NP is a status move, doesn't do damage). Then next turn I attack with +2 SpA. But I'm at 30 HP and they'll Thunderbolt me.

Hmm, unless they don't Thunderbolt. They might use Hydro Pump (which does less to me due to Steel resist). If they use Hydro Pump at 0.5x: effective power 55. Damage ≈ (22 * 110 * SpA/113) / 50 * 0.5 * 1.3... wait no, the 0.5x is the type effectiveness.

Actually let me recalculate. Hydro Pump: 110 BP, but 0.5x on Steel/Ghost = effective 55 BP against me.
    Damage = (22 * 55 * SpA/113) / 50 + 2
    If SpA = 112: 135520/113/50 + 2 = 24.0 + 2 = 26
    If SpA = 172: 207920/113/50 + 2 = 36.8 + 2 = 38.8

So Hydro Pump does roughly 26-39 damage. At 30 HP, I might survive a low roll!

    But Thunderbolt (90 BP, neutral):
    Damage = (22 * 90 * SpA/113) / 50 + 2
    If SpA = 112: 221760/113/50 + 2 = 39.3 + 2 = 41.3
    If SpA = 172: 340560/113/50 + 2 = 60.3 + 2 = 62.3

So Thunderbolt does 41-62 damage. At 30 HP, I always die to Thunderbolt.

    So my options:
    1. Attack (Focus Blast or Shadow Ball) - if I'm faster, I do damage but can't OHKO, then die next turn. If I'm slower, I die.
    2. Nasty Plot - if I'm faster, I survive this turn (assuming they don't KO me with a move... but they will Thunderbolt). Wait, if I use NP and I'm faster, I set up NP. Then they Thunderbolt and I die. If I'm slower, they Thunderbolt and I die.

Hmm, actually if I use Nasty Plot, the opponent still attacks me. I'm at 30 HP, Thunderbolt does 41-62, I die.

What if I use Focus Blast and I'm faster? I do 76-114 damage to Rotom-Wash (125-157 HP). They survive. Then they Thunderbolt and I die. Then I have no Pokémon left and lose.

What if I use Shadow Ball and I'm faster? I do 51-77 damage. They survive. They Thunderbolt and I die.

So in all cases, I lose unless I can OHKO. And I can't OHKO.

Wait... unless there's a scenario where Rotom-Wash uses Hydro Pump instead of Thunderbolt. If they use Hydro Pump (26-39 damage) and I'm at 30 HP, I might survive on a low roll!

If I use Focus Blast and I'm faster:
    - I do 76-114 to Rotom-Wash
    - If Rotom-Wash has 125 HP, I need 125+ damage. Max is 114. Can't OHKO.
    - If Rotom-Wash has 157 HP, definitely can't OHKO.

Hmm wait, I should also consider that Rotom-Wash might not have max HP. It was at 100% when it came in. But it's been hit? No, looking at the log, Rotom-Wash came in on Turn 3 and hasn't been attacked since. It's at full HP.

Actually, let me reconsider. The opponent's Rotom-Wash is at "100.0% HP" which means full HP. So it has between 125-157 HP depending on its EVs/nature.

I really can't OHKO. My best hope is:
    1. Use Focus Blast, hope I'm faster
    2. Do maximum damage (114 if low SpD)
    3. Hope Rotom-Wash uses Hydro Pump instead of Thunderbolt next turn
    4. Survive Hydro Pump on a low roll (need 30+ HP remaining, so damage < 30, which means low roll of 26)

This is a very slim chance. But it's my only chance.

Alternatively, what if I use Nasty Plot? If I'm faster, I set up +2 SpA. Then they attack. If they Thunderbolt, I die. If they Hydro Pump, I might survive. Then next turn I Focus Blast with +2 SpA.

    With +2 SpA, my effective SpA is 185 * 2 = 370.
    Focus Blast damage = (22 * 120 * 370/SpD) / 50 + 2
    If SpD = 114: 976800/114/50 + 2 = 171.4 + 2 = 173.4 * 1.3 = 225.4
    If SpD = 174: 976800/174/50 + 2 = 112.3 + 2 = 114.3 * 1.3 = 148.6

So with +2 SpA, Focus Blast does 149-225 damage. Against 125-157 HP, this OHKOs in all cases!

But the problem is: can I survive the turn after Nasty Plot? I'm at 30 HP. If they Thunderbolt (41-62 damage), I die. If they Hydro Pump (26-39 damage), I might survive on a low roll.

    So the plan would be:
    1. Use Nasty Plot (hope I'm faster, or hope they use Hydro Pump)
    2. If I survive, use Focus Blast next turn for guaranteed OHKO

But if they Thunderbolt, I die regardless. And Thunderbolt is the more logical move (neutral, more damage).

Hmm, let me think about what's more likely. The opponent has seen my Gholdengo use Shadow Ball twice (killing their Dragapult and Gholdengo). They know Gholdengo is Steel/Ghost. They might use Thunderbolt (neutral) or Hydro Pump (not very effective). A smart opponent would use Thunderbolt.

But actually, from the opponent's perspective, they might not know the exact type matchup. Or they might think Hydro Pump is better because it's 110 BP vs 90 BP. But a good player would know Steel resists Water.

I think the best strategy is:
    - Use Focus Blast now. If I'm faster, I do significant damage (76-114). Then I'm at 30 HP and they attack. If they Thunderbolt, I die. If they Hydro Pump, I might survive.
    - OR use Nasty Plot. If I'm faster, I set up. Then they attack. If Thunderbolt, I die. If Hydro Pump, I survive and OHKO next turn.

Actually, both paths require surviving a hit at 30 HP. The difference is:
    - Focus Blast now: I do 76-114 damage. If I survive next turn (unlikely), I need another hit to finish them.
    - Nasty Plot now: I do 0 damage. If I survive next turn (unlikely), I OHKO next turn.

Both require me to survive. But with Focus Blast, even if I survive, I still might not OHKO next turn (they'd be at 43-81 HP, and my Focus Blast would do 76-114, so I'd OHKO).

Wait, that's actually good! If I use Focus Blast and survive (they use Hydro Pump on a low roll), then next turn I Focus Blast again and OHKO (they'd be at 125-157 minus 76-114 = 11-81 HP, and my Focus Blast does 76-114, so I'd OHKO).

    So the sequence would be:
    1. Focus Blast (if faster): do 76-114 damage
    2. Opponent uses Hydro Pump (low roll, 26-29 damage): I survive at 1-4 HP
    3. Focus Blast again: OHKO

    vs.

    1. Nasty Plot (if faster): set up
    2. Opponent uses Hydro Pump (low roll): I survive
    3. Focus Blast: OHKO

The Nasty Plot route is actually more reliable for the OHKO step (guaranteed OHKO vs needing another hit). But it gives up the immediate damage.

Hmm, but in both cases, the bottleneck is surviving the opponent's attack. If they Thunderbolt, I die either way.

I think Focus Blast is slightly better because:
