  1. Team preview
    Claude Haiku 5.5 brought Incineroar,garchomp,corviknight3,152 tok · 4.5 s · $0.0005

Plan: Lead Incineroar for Intimidate and Fake Out support. Garchomp (Mega) is the main attacker, and Corviknight is immune to Ground and handles Dragonite and Kingambit. Watch for Tyranitar (Rock/Dark) and Rotom-Wash. Opponent's Garchomp may have Rough Skin, so avoid chip damage from contact moves. Opponent Gholdengo has Good as Gold, so Status moves won't work on it.

    Reasoning trace (71 words)
I need to pick 3 from our team against their Garchomp, Gholdengo, Dragonite, Kingambit, Tyranitar, Rotom-wash squad — their Tyranitar and Kingambit look especially threatening. Incineroar stands out as a strong lead with intimidate and fake out to disrupt their setup.

Corviknight seems like a solid pick too since it's immune to Ground and resists Dragonite and Kingambit well, so I'll go with Incineroar, Garchomp, and Corviknight, leading with Incineroar.

    Muse Spark Open brought Garchomp,gholdengo,rotomwash2,358 tok · 16.8 s · $0.0042

Plan: Bring balanced core with Mega Garchomp as lead breaker, Gholdengo as special sweeper vs Sinistcha/Corviknight, Rotom-Wash as pivot/wisp vs physical threats. Keep Gholdengo safe from Incineroar Knock, use Rotom to burn Kingambit/Garchomp.

    Reasoning trace (161 words)
Need pick 3. Opponent has Incineroar, Garchomp, Kingambit, Gholdengo, Sinistcha, Corviknight.

We have Mega Garchomp, Mega Dragonite, Mega Tyranitar options but only one mega per battle? In this format Mega Evolution instead of Terastallization - likely one mega per battle.

Our team: Garchomp, Gholdengo, Dragonite, Kingambit, Tyranitar, Rotom-Wash.

Opponent bulky steel ghost etc. Need coverage.

Gholdengo good vs Sinistcha, Corviknight? Make It Rain strong. Garchomp EQ hits Kingambit, Gholdengo, Incineroar. Dragonite DD + ESpeed good.

Rotom-Wash handles Corviknight, Incineroar with Hydro, Will-o-wisp for physical threats.

    Kingambit vs Gholdengo?

Tyranitar sets sand and rocks but maybe not needed in 3v3 singles.

Best core: Garchomp lead, Gholdengo, Rotom-Wash provides balance. Or Dragonite instead of Garchomp? Both megas compete.

Choose Garchomp (mega), Gholdengo, Rotom-Wash gives offensive + defensive pivot. Alternatively Kingambit for Sucker Punch priority.

Opponent has Intimidate Incineroar, will cripple physical. So need special attacker Gholdengo.

Bring Gholdengo lead? But need plan.

Let's bring Garchomp, Gholdengo, Rotom-Wash. Lead Garchomp to threaten EQ.

  2. Turn 1
    Claude Haiku 5.5 used Fakeout3,484 tok · 3.7 s · $0.0005

Opponent leads Garchomp (Intimidate hit it to -1 Atk). Incineroar outspeeds nothing here, so Fake Out now gives a free turn via flinch. Next: consider Parting Shot to bring in Corviknight or Garchomp (Garchomp is weak to my Dragon/Fairy-less side, so Dragon Claw is neutral). Opponent threats: Gholdengo (immune to status, Good as Gold), Dragonite, Kingambit, Tyranitar, Rotom-Wash. Corviknight is Ground-immune. Mega Garchomp is my main sweeper once safe.

    Reasoning trace (38 words)
Leading with Incineroar against Garchomp, intimidate drops Garchomp's attack. Fake Out flinches Garchomp on turn one since it's Normal-type and unresisted, keeping it from acting, though Flare Blitz afterward wouldn't be very effective against its Dragon/Ground typing.

    Muse Spark Open switched to Rotom2,520 tok · 4.5 s · $0.0043

Incineroar lead with Intimidate vs -1 Garchomp. Likely Parting Shot/U-turn or Fake Out. Staying to SD risks further debuff. Rotom-Wash walls it, can Wisp and pivot. Preserve Mega for later breaker.

    Reasoning trace (185 words)
We are vs Incineroar lead. Our Garchomp intimidated -1. We have Mega available. Opponent likely will Parting Shot? Or Fake Out? But this is singles, no Fake Out value? Actually Fake Out exists but 1v1. Could be.

We want to keep Garchomp? Earthquake super effective on Incineroar. At -1 maybe not KO. Let's estimate: Garchomp Atk 182, -1 = ~121 effective. Earthquake 100 BP vs Incineroar Def ~127 avg. Should do decent ~50-60%. If we Swords Dance, they could Will-O-Wisp? Incineroar often has Knock Off, Flare Blitz, Parting Shot, Fake Out.

Best play: Switch to Rotom-Wash? Rotom resists Fire, immune Ground, can Will-O-Wisp. But Incineroar Dark hits? Not.

Alternatively Mega Evolve and Earthquake? Mega Garchomp gets higher Atk (maybe 200+?) and lower speed but still faster than Incineroar. Could do more damage.

But we have plan: Rotom pivot vs physical threats. So switch to Rotom Wash now to absorb Intimidate cycling and burn.

If we stay and SD, risk Parting Shot lowering Atk/SpA and switching out.

So switch to Rotom Wash is safe. It also threatens Hydro Pump / Volt Switch.

    We should switch.

  3. Turn 2
    Claude Haiku 5.5 used Partingshot4,654 tok · 8.1 s · $0.0009

Opponent's Garchomp was switched out for Rotom-Wash (Leftovers, Levitate, Water/Electric). Rotom's Electric can't hit my Garchomp (Ground immunity), so Garchomp is the best switch-in. Plan: Parting Shot now to bring in Garchomp, then Mega Garchomp as the main sweeper. Corviknight resists Electric and is a backup. Opponent still has Gholdengo, Dragonite, Kingambit, and Tyranitar to bring. Their Garchomp may have Rough Skin, so avoid chip damage.

    Reasoning trace (118 words)
Garchomp must have switched out to Rotom-Wash since Turn 1, so it's no longer taking the intimidate drop into account. Rotom-Wash is now the active target, and I'm weighing Flare Blitz against it despite the resisted/weak matchup against a Water-type.

Parting Shot could bring in Corviknight, which resists Electric and takes Water only neutrally, or Garchomp itself which could Mega Evolve for more offensive pressure. Neither Corviknight's Brave Bird/Body Press nor Garchomp's Dragon Claw hits Rotom-Wash for much more than neutral damage, so I'm trying to figure out which switch-in gives the best long-term matchup.

I'll go with Parting Shot, swapping Incineroar out safely into Garchomp without taking a hit, then handle the switch prompt that follows.

    Muse Spark Open used Willowisp2,429 tok · 17.7 s · $0.0033

Incineroar likely switches vs Rotom. Wisp burns it if stays or cripples incoming Kingambit/Garchomp. Volt Switch gives momentum but Wisp value higher now. Keep Garchomp/Gholdengo healthy. Expect Garchomp or Corviknight switch-in.

    Reasoning trace (116 words)
We have Rotom vs Incineroar. We want to Will-o-wisp. But Incineroar may switch. Volt Switch could be good to keep momentum. However Will-o-wisp cripples Incineroar and Kingambit/Garchomp. Incineroar likely to Parting Shot or switch to Garchomp? Actually Incineroar vs Rotom is bad for Incineroar. It will likely switch out to Garchomp or Gholdengo? Or use Knock Off? But we have Levitate so EQ immune.

Best play: Will-o-wisp to burn Incineroar if stays, or burn incoming physical attacker like Kingambit/Garchomp. Volt Switch does damage but not great.

We should Will-o-wisp. If they switch to Garchomp, we burn it. If they stay, burn Incineroar.

    Protect could scout but waste.

    So MOVE willowisp.

Opponent brought Rotom-Wash (Levitate, Leftovers, Will-O-Wisp), Garchomp, and one of Gholdengo/Dragonite/Kingambit/Tyranitar. Incineroar Parting Shot lowered Rotom's Atk/SpA. Switching to Garchomp now: Rotom's Electric can't hit it via Ground immunity... Garchomp is Ground-type, so Electric is neutral-ish, but Rotom is Levitate so Earthquake misses it. Plan: Mega Garchomp sweeps the rest; watch Will-O-Wisp on Garchomp (burn halves physical attack). Corviknight is backup for Electric/Water. Opponent Garchomp may have Rough Skin.

  4. Turn 3
    Claude Haiku 5.5 used Dragonclawmega4,858 tok · 6.6 s · $0.0007

Turn 3: my Garchomp (Rough Skin) is active against Rotom-Wash, which has Levitate (immune to Earthquake), Leftovers, and Will-O-Wisp, with Atk and SpA each at -1. I outspeed it. Mega Garchomp now and use Dragon Claw, which is neutral and 100% accurate. Opponent still has Garchomp, Gholdengo/Dragonite/Kingambit/Tyranitar to come. Corviknight is Ground-immune and handles Electric/Water-type threats. Watch for burn on Garchomp, which halves its physical damage.

    Reasoning trace (91 words)
My Garchomp is at full health against their Rotom-Wash, which is immune to Earthquake thanks to Levitate and carries Will-O-Wisp plus Leftovers for recovery — so I need to think about a different attack since ground moves won't work here.

Dragon Claw and Stone Edge both hit Rotom neutrally, and my speed means I move first so I don't need to fear being outsped. I'm leaning toward Mega Evolving Garchomp and using Dragon Claw as the safer, higher-accuracy option against Rotom, saving Earthquake's full power for a ground-vulnerable target later.

    Muse Spark Open used Willowisp2,925 tok · 22.9 s · $0.0052

Opp Garchomp in vs Rotom. Rotom immune to EQ via Levitate, so they must use Dragon or setup. Volt Switch is 0 dmg vs Ground, so Wisp is best to cripple physical attacker. Hydro Pump neutral but -1 SpA weak. Burn halves Atk and chips. Keep Gholdengo/Garchomp fresh.

    Reasoning trace (251 words)
to=self<|message|>We have Rotom vs Garchomp. Rotom has Levitate immune to Ground. Garchomp likely has Dragon moves, maybe Swords Dance, EQ, Dragon Claw, etc. Rotom's Volt Switch does 0 to Garchomp (Ground immune to Electric). So Volt Switch useless. Hydro Pump is super effective? Water vs Ground/Dragon? Dragon resists Water? Actually Dragon resists Water, Ground neutral? So Water vs Dragon/Ground = 0.5x? Let's see: Water vs Dragon 0.5, vs Ground 2x => 1x neutral. So Hydro Pump neutral.

Will-o-wisp burns Garchomp, good. Protect scouts.

But Rotom is -1 SpA, so Hydro Pump weak. Best is Will-o-wisp to cripple physical Garchomp. Or switch.

If we switch to Garchomp, we get Intimidate? No opponent Garchomp not Intimidate. Our Garchomp vs theirs: speed tie maybe. Our Garchomp 169 max speed, theirs 109-169. Could be faster. But we have -? No our Garchomp not debuffed? Actually earlier Intimidate -1 but we switched out, so reset? In singles, switching resets stat changes. So our Garchomp fresh.

Gholdengo resists Dragon, immune to Ground? No but Steel/Ghost resists Dragon.

Opponent Garchomp likely will use Dragon Claw or EQ (but EQ useless vs Rotom). So they will likely Dragon move or Swords Dance.

Rotom can Will-o-wisp to burn, then they are crippled. Protect next.

Alternatively switch to Gholdengo to take Dragon? Gholdengo resists.

But Rotom with Levitate is actually good vs Garchomp: immune to EQ. So keep Rotom and Wisp.

    We should use Will-o-wisp.

If they have Lum or something? Unlikely.

    So decision: MOVE willowisp.

    We need notes.

  5. Turn 4
    Claude Haiku 5.5 used Dragonclaw4,628 tok · 4.6 s · $0.0007

Turn 4. Rotom-Wash (Levitate, Leftovers, Will-O-Wisp, Atk/SpA -1) is at 60%. Earthquake is useless because of Levitate. Mega Garchomp is burned, so physical damage is halved. Dragon Claw is the reliable STAB hit. Opponent still has Garchomp plus one of Gholdengo, Dragonite, Kingambit, or Tyranitar. Corviknight is Ground-immune and handles Electric/Water. Incineroar's Parting Shot can reset pressure when needed.

    Reasoning trace (67 words)
My Garchomp is burned and weakened, so Earthquake is useless against Levitate Rotom-Wash anyway—I need to consider Dragon Claw or Stone Edge instead, both neutral against its Electric/Water typing, while Rotom sits at 60% health.

Since Garchomp is Dragon/Ground, Stone Edge gets no STAB while Dragon Claw does, making it the more reliable choice even with the burn halving my attack. I'll go with Dragon Claw.

    Muse Spark Open switched to Gholdengo3,048 tok · 23.5 s · $0.0054

Opp Mega Garchomp burned, Atk halved. Rotom at 60% with -1 SpA, Volt Switch useless vs Ground, Hydro neutral due to Dragon resist. Burn chip + Leftovers favors stall but better to pivot to Gholdengo who resists Dragon Claw and threatens Make It Rain/Shadow Ball. Preserve Rotom health.

    Reasoning trace (280 words)
We have Rotom vs Mega Garchomp burned. Rotom at 60% with -1 SpA. Opponent Garchomp burned, so attack halved. We can stay? Rotom levitate immune EQ. Dragon Claw does ~? It did 69 damage from 155 to 86 =69 before burn. Now burn halves attack, so damage ~34. So Rotom can survive. But we have -1 SpA, Hydro Pump maybe not kill. Need to consider switch.

We want to preserve Rotom? Could switch to Gholdengo or Garchomp. Gholdengo resists Dragon Claw, immune to Ground? No but steel ghost resists dragon. Good switch. Garchomp also resists? Dragon neutral, ground immune? Actually Garchomp ground/dragon, takes neutral dragon. But has Rough Skin.

Best play: Switch to Gholdengo to threaten with Make It Rain / Shadow Ball. Or Hydro Pump for damage. Let's think: Opponent mega Garchomp burned, its attack halved, but still threat. Rotom can Hydro Pump for super effective? Water vs Ground/Dragon neutral? Actually Water vs Ground super effective, vs Dragon neutral => super effective? Ground weak to water, dragon resists water? Dragon resists water? In Pokemon, Dragon resists Water? Yes Fire/Water/Grass/Electric resisted by Dragon. So Water vs Dragon/Ground = neutral (2x *0.5). So Hydro Pump neutral.

Volt Switch does 0 vs Garchomp (Ground immune to Electric). So useless.

    Willowisp already burned.

Protect to scout and heal leftovers.

Switching to Gholdengo seems good: forces them out maybe. Gholdengo can Nasty Plot.

Alternatively switch to own Garchomp to intimidate? No.

We should switch to Gholdengo to keep momentum. Or protect to get leftovers and burn chip.

If we switch to Gholdengo, we take Dragon Claw reduced. Gholdengo has 115 Def, 194 HP, should tank burned Dragon Claw easily.

    Let's switch to Gholdengo.

  6. Turn 5
    Claude Haiku 5.5 used Earthquake4,638 tok · 3.4 s · $0.0005

Mega Garchomp (burned, 163/185) outspeeds Gholdengo. Earthquake is super effective on Gholdengo's Steel typing, so I'm using it now. Rotom-Wash has Levitate, so Earthquake can't hit it; Dragon Claw is the reliable hit there. Opponent has seen Garchomp, Rotom-Wash (Will-O-Wisp, Leftovers), and Gholdengo (Good as Gold, immune to status moves). Remaining unknowns: Dragonite, Kingambit, Tyranitar. Corviknight is Ground-immune and handles Electric/Water. Incineroar's Parting Shot is available to reset pressure. Watch that Garchomp's burn halves its physical damage.

    Reasoning trace (24 words)
My Garchomp is burned but facing Gholdengo at 88%; since Gholdengo is Steel/Ghost, Earthquake hits for super effective damage against its Steel typing.

    Muse Spark Open used Shadowball3,615 tok · 41.3 s · $0.0076

Opp Mega Garchomp burned, EQ is its only threatening move vs Gholdengo but halved. Gholdengo resists Dragon Claw and can 2HKO with Shadow Ball + Life Orb + burn chip. Switching to Rotom resets its -1 but gives free turn; staying pressures. If they switch to Incineroar, Shadow Ball still chips. Keep momentum, don't give free setup.

    Reasoning trace (597 words)
We have Gholdengo vs burned Mega Garchomp. Gholdengo has Life Orb, 172/194. Opponent Garchomp burned, 88% HP. We need to decide.

Gholdengo's Make It Rain is Steel special 120 BP, vs Garchomp Dragon/Ground: Steel neutral? Steel vs Dragon neutral, vs Ground neutral. So neutral. Shadow Ball vs Garchomp: Ghost vs Dragon/Ground neutral? Ghost neutral. Which does more? Make It Rain 120 vs Shadow Ball 80. But Make It Rain lowers SpA by 2 after. Shadow Ball better long term.

But opponent Garchomp likely has Earthquake which is super effective vs Gholdengo (Steel). However burned halves attack, and Sand Force boosts Ground in sand but no sand. So EQ damage halved. Let's estimate: Mega Garchomp Atk maybe high but burned. Gholdengo Def 115. Could still do decent.

We could Nasty Plot to boost, but risk taking EQ.

Alternatively switch to Rotom Wash immune to EQ, or Garchomp resists? Our Garchomp takes Dragon Claw neutral, EQ neutral? Actually Garchomp resists? No.

Best maybe Shadow Ball to chip, or Recover to heal.

Opponent at 88% burned, will take burn chip each turn. We can stall with Recover? Gholdengo has Recover.

If we stay, we can Shadow Ball for damage. Life Orb recoil.

Switch to Rotom Wash: Rotom levitate immune to EQ, resists? But Rotom at 60% and -1 SpA? Actually Parting Shot lowered Rotom's Atk and SpA, but we switched out, so stats reset? In singles, switching resets stat changes. So Rotom now clean? Wait Rotom was active when Parting Shot hit, then opponent switched to Garchomp, Rotom stayed. Then Turn3 Rotom used Wisp, Turn4 we switched to Gholdengo. So Rotom's -1 Atk/SpA remains? When we switched Rotom out, its stat drops are cleared upon switching out. So if we bring Rotom back in, it will be at neutral.

Rotom walls Garchomp well (immune EQ, resists? Dragon neutral). Could Will-O-Wisp already burned, so Rotom can Hydro Pump.

Alternatively switch to our Garchomp: Intimidate not, but Rough Skin. Our Garchomp vs theirs: Dragon Claw neutral, EQ neutral.

What is best? Gholdengo vs burned Mega Garchomp: Gholdengo should win with Shadow Ball spam + Recover. Let's calculate: Shadow Ball 80 BP * 203 SpA vs maybe 100 SpD. Should do ~30-40%. With Life Orb 1.3x. Two hits KO. Burn chip helps.

If opponent uses Earthquake, how much? Let's approximate: Mega Garchomp Atk maybe 200 max, burned halves to 100 effective. EQ 100 BP vs Gholdengo 115 Def. Might do ~30%? Could be manageable. We can Recover.

    So stay and Shadow Ball.

Also consider opponent may switch out to Incineroar or third mon (Kingambit etc). Shadow Ball vs Incineroar neutral? Ghost vs Fire/Dark: Ghost neutral vs Fire, not very effective vs Dark? Actually Ghost vs Dark not very effective? No, Ghost vs Dark is neutral? Wait Ghost vs Dark is not very effective? In Pokemon, Ghost is not very effective against Dark. Yes Ghost vs Dark = 0.5x. So Shadow Ball weak vs Incineroar. Make It Rain vs Incineroar: Steel vs Fire not very effective, vs Dark neutral => 0.5x. So both resisted.

If they switch to Incineroar, we would want Make It Rain? Both resisted equally. But Nasty Plot could be good on switch.

Predict: Opponent sees Gholdengo threatens, may switch to Incineroar to Intimidate? But Gholdengo is special attacker, Intimidate useless. Or they may stay and EQ.

We could Nasty Plot on predicted switch to Incineroar, then sweep.

    Risky.

Safer to Shadow Ball to damage Garchomp, if they switch to Incineroar it's not great but still chip.

    Alternatively Recover to stall burn.

I think Shadow Ball is best aggressive play.

Garchomp Mega (31/185, burned) outspeeds everything on their side, including Gholdengo (max 149 Spe). Earthquake is super effective on Gholdengo (Steel) and should KO it at 21% before it moves. Opponent has seen Garchomp (unknown item/ability), Rotom-Wash (Levitate, Leftovers, Will-O-Wisp; immune to Earthquake, so use Dragon Claw or Stone Edge on it), and Gholdengo (Good as Gold, Life Orb). Still unseen: Dragonite, Kingambit, Tyranitar. Corviknight is Ground-immune and handles Electric/Water. Incineroar's Parting Shot can reset pressure. Their Garchomp is the next real threat to my Garchomp.

    Reasoning trace (35 words)
My Garchomp outspeeds the weakened Gholdengo and Earthquake should knock it out given its low remaining HP, though I need to watch out for Shadow Ball since my Garchomp is already burned and low.

Opp Mega Garchomp at 16% burned will die to any hit + burn chip. My Gholdengo at 21% dies to any EQ/DClaw if opp outspeeds (speed tie uncertain) and also to Life Orb recoil. Preserve Gholdengo for last mon. Rotom levitates EQ and resists Dragon, safest pivot to absorb hit then finish.

    Reasoning trace (307 words)
We have Gholdengo at 21% vs burned Mega Garchomp at 16%. Gholdengo will die to Life Orb recoil if attacks? Actually Shadow Ball will kill Garchomp (22% -> 16% burn, so ~6% per turn). Shadow Ball should KO. But we are at 41 HP, Life Orb recoil is 19 HP, so after attack we'd be at 22 HP if not hit. But opponent may attack first. Garchomp EQ does super effective but burned halves. Last EQ did 112 damage to Gholdengo (172->60). That's huge. At 41 HP we die to any attack. So we need to consider speed. Gholdengo 106 Spe, Garchomp range 100-158. Could be faster. If we stay and they outspeed, we die before attacking. If we switch, we preserve Gholdengo? But Garchomp at 16% will die to burn next turn? Burn does 6% per turn? Actually 1/16 =6.25%. So from 16% to 10% next turn, not dead. Need to finish.

Best switch is to Garchomp or Rotom. Rotom levitate immune to EQ, resists Dragon Claw. Garchomp resists? Our Garchomp takes neutral Dragon Claw, immune to EQ? No Ground not immune. But Rough Skin.

Rotom at 95 HP can take a hit. Garchomp at full can also.

If we switch to Rotom, opponent Garchomp will likely EQ or Dragon Claw, Rotom walls. Then we can finish with Hydro Pump? But Rotom -1 SpA.

Alternatively switch to our Garchomp, we can EQ and kill? Mega Garchomp 16% HP, any attack kills. Our Garchomp EQ will kill even if they switch.

But Gholdengo at 21% is low; switching preserves it for later vs unknown third (maybe Kingambit etc). So switch.

Which switch better? Rotom has Levitate, completely walls EQ. So safest is Rotom.

Also Gholdengo could use Recover to heal to 138 HP, but would die if opponent attacks first. So not.

    So SWITCH to Rotom-Wash.

    Reasoning trace (83 words)
We need to decide. Opponent Garchomp at 10% burned will die to burn chip next turn? Burn does 6.25% per turn, so 10% -> 3.75% after. So we can just stall. Rotom has protect. Use protect to let burn kill? But also hydro pump kills. Safest is protect to guarantee kill without risking miss. Also preserves PP.

Mega Garchomp (20 HP, burned) outspeeds everything, including Rotom-Wash (max 151 Spe). Rotom is Levitate-immune to Earthquake, so Dragon Claw is the reliable hit; it did about 44% earlier. Rotom is at 66% and Leftovers-healing. Their Gholdengo (21%, Life Orb) is benched. Their Garchomp (unknown item/ability) is unrevealed and is the main threat to mine. Corviknight (Shell Bell, Ground-immune) is my backup for Rotom and Gholdengo. Incineroar's Parting Shot can reset pressure.

    Reasoning trace (132 words)
My Garchomp Mega is burned and active against their Rotom-Wash at 66%, with their Gholdengo benched at 21% and Garchomp unknown. Since Gholdengo switched out, the earthquake plan doesn't matter anymore, so I'm weighing other options for my Garchomp Mega's move.

Dragon Claw from burned Garchomp seems to do around 44% per hit based on earlier damage, so Rotom at 66% likely survives one hit and could knock out my 20 HP Garchomp in return. I'm also considering switching to Corviknight instead, checking whether its Flying/Steel typing gives it useful resistances against Rotom's attacks.

Will-O-Wisp won't matter since Garchomp's already burned. Switching to Corviknight seems safer given its bulk, though Incineroar's Flare Blitz would be resisted by Rotom anyway. I'm leaning toward just going with Dragon Claw now instead of switching.

Mega Garchomp is at 9 HP and burned, so it is nearly spent. It outspeeds Rotom-Wash, so I'll use Dragon Claw for damage before it falls. Rotom-Wash (Levitate, Leftovers, Will-O-Wisp, Protect) is immune to Earthquake. Their Gholdengo (21%, Life Orb) is benched. Their Garchomp is unrevealed and is the main threat. Next turn, bring in Corviknight (Shell Bell) for Rotom or Gholdengo, or Incineroar to Parting Shot and pivot.

    Reasoning trace (110 words)
My Garchomp is at 9 HP and burned, facing Rotom-Wash at 71% who just protected, with Gholdengo sitting at 21% on the bench. Since I outspeed Rotom-Wash, Dragon Claw looks like the play here.

Since Garchomp will go first and die to any retaliation anyway, I might as well land a Dragon Claw on Rotom for roughly 44% damage before it goes down, dropping Rotom to around 27%. Stone Edge and Earthquake won't help here since Rock and Ground aren't effective against Electric/Water typing, so Dragon Claw is clearly the right call; I'm also weighing switching to Incineroar or Corviknight afterward since both can handle Rotom's follow-up reasonably well.

Opp Mega Garchomp at 4% burned dies to burn end of turn. Protect guarantees KO without risking Hydro miss and scouts switch to Incineroar/third. Volt Switch does 0 vs Garchomp. Keep Rotom healthy for endgame.

    Reasoning trace (196 words)
to=self<|message|>We have Rotom vs 4% burned Garchomp. It will die to burn at end of turn. So we don't need to attack. But we need to consider opponent may switch to Incineroar or third mon. If they switch, burn won't kill. We should attack to finish Garchomp if it stays, but also handle switch.

Garchomp is Ground/Dragon, immune to Volt Switch. So Volt Switch does nothing if they stay. Hydro Pump would kill if hits (80% acc). Protect would stall burn but if they switch, we waste.

Best is Hydro Pump? If they stay, Hydro kills (if hits) or burn kills anyway. If they switch to Incineroar, Hydro is super effective. If they switch to third unknown, Hydro may be neutral.

Volt Switch is useless vs Garchomp (no effect). So don't use.

    Will-o-wisp already burned.

Protect will guarantee Garchomp dies to burn without risking miss, and also scout switch. Actually if they stay, Protect -> burn kills. If they switch, we get info and heal with Leftovers.

So Protect is safest to secure KO on Garchomp. Then next turn we face fresh mon with Rotom healthy.

Corviknight (Shell Bell, Mirror Armor) is Ground-immune and blocks Will-O-Wisp burn damage, so it switches in. Plan: Body Press or Brave Bird on Rotom and Roost to recover. Watch for Rotom's Electric attacks, which hit Corviknight's Flying side for 2x. Incineroar's Parting Shot and Fake Out stay in reserve.

    Reasoning trace (84 words)
With Garchomp down, I need to decide between Incineroar and Corviknight against the weakened Rotom-Wash, weighing Flare Blitz's effectiveness against Rotom's Electric/Water typing.

Corviknight would take 2x damage from Rotom's Electric attacks given its Flying typing, though its Body Press hits Rotom neutrally since Fighting isn't super effective against Electric or Water.

Corviknight is actually the safer pick here—Mirror Armor reflects stat drops, it's immune to Ground so Garchomp's STAB won't touch it, and Roost lets it recover HP. I'll switch to Corviknight.

Corviknight (Shell Bell, Mirror Armor) is Ground-immune and resists Electric-type moves only partly. Brave Bird is resisted by Rotom-Wash, so use Body Press (neutral, uses Def 172). I'm checking matchup effectiveness between Corviknight's moves and Rotom-Wash, noting Body Press is neutral since Rotom is Electric/Water, and Brave Bird isn't very effective against the Electric typing either.

We have Rotom vs Corviknight. Corviknight likely walls Rotom? Volt Switch super effective. Hydropump neutral? Actually Water vs Flying/Steel neutral? Steel resists? Water not super. Volt Switch is best. But Corviknight may have Pressure, Volt Tackle? We want to keep Rotom healthy. Volt Switch lets us pivot to Garchomp or Gholdengo. Garchomp with Mega available? Reasoning trace (274 words)
We are in turn 9, we used Volt Switch super effective vs Corviknight. Now we must switch? Legal actions only switch to gholdengo or garchomp. So Volt Switch forces switch.

We need choose pivot. Corviknight at 50% after Volt Switch. Which is best?

Garchomp can threaten with? But Corviknight resists Dragon Claw, immune to Earthquake? Actually Flying immune to EQ. So Garchomp not great vs Corviknight. Gholdengo with Make It Rain / Shadow Ball? Steel vs Flying/Steel neutral? Make It Rain steel vs Corviknight neutral? Actually Steel vs Flying/Steel: Steel resists Steel, so not good. Shadow Ball neutral.

But Rotom is best vs Corviknight. Why switch out? Because Volt Switch forces switch. We need pick who comes in. Garchomp at 100% but walled. Gholdengo at 21% low, Life Orb recoil will kill itself. Maybe Garchomp better to preserve? However Garchomp can't hit Corviknight well. But maybe opponent will switch Incineroar in to absorb Volt Switch? Wait Volt Switch already happened, damage done. Now we choose switch target. Opponent may have Incineroar still. If we bring Garchomp, Intimidate? Incineroar already used Parting Shot earlier, now at full. Could come in later.

Between Garchomp and Gholdengo, which is better vs Corviknight? Gholdengo low HP but can Recover? At 41 HP, any attack kills. Garchomp can Swords Dance? But Corviknight likely has Body Press / Brave Bird / Roost.

Maybe Garchomp is better as sack? Let's think: Rotom is our win con vs Corviknight. We want Rotom back in soon. So we want a pivot that can come in and then switch back? Both can. Garchomp has Protect to scout. Gholdengo has low HP, risky.

Need to decide. Corviknight at 40% with Body Press, Shell Bell. Garchomp vs Corviknight: Earthquake does 0 (Flying immune). Dragon Claw not very effective. Let's estimate: Body Press did ~51 damage to Garchomp (132/183 from full? Actually Garchomp took 51 dmg). Rotom has higher Def 174 vs Garchomp 117, so takes less. So safe.

Garchomp outspeeds Corviknight and is immune to nothing relevant here. Corviknight is Ground-immune, so Garchomp's Earthquake does nothing. Body Press uses Def 172 and has no recoil. Rotom-Wash (57%, Leftovers, Protect, Will-O-Wisp, Volt Switch) and Gholdengo (21%, Life Orb) are in back. Incineroar is fresh and its Intimidate and Parting Shot are saved for a switch-in onto Garchomp or Rotom.

    Reasoning trace (151 words)
Checking the matchup: my Corviknight is immune to Garchomp's Earthquake since it's Flying-type, and Dragon Claw hits neutrally since Steel resists Dragon anyway. I'm also keeping in mind Rotom and Gholdengo waiting in the back for the opponent.

I'm weighing Body Press versus Brave Bird here - Garchomp outspeeds me, Stone Edge could be a threat to my Flying typing, but Brave Bird's recoil is risky at my current HP while Body Press using my high Defense stat seems safer and still did solid damage last turn.

I'm also considering switching to Incineroar instead, which is fresh at full HP and could threaten Garchomp hard with Flare Blitz.

Earthquake would only do moderate damage to Incineroar though, and then Flare Blitz hits back hard. A simpler line might just be using Body Press now, dropping Garchomp to around 40%, though Corviknight could still survive depending on what Garchomp does next.

    Reasoning trace (168 words)
Rotom 42% vs Corv 42%. Need to think. Volt Switch super effective, will do damage and switch. But we have Garchomp and Gholdengo low. Corviknight Body Press does decent. Rotom can Volt Switch to bring Garchomp? But Garchomp can't hit Corv well. Actually Garchomp vs Corv is bad. Maybe Hydro Pump better? Water neutral? Flying/Steel resists? Actually Steel resists? Water not very effective vs? No. Electric is SE. So Volt Switch best.

But we need to consider Incineroar in back full HP. If we Volt Switch, we go to Garchomp? Could also stay? Let's see: Rotom at 66 HP, Corv Body Press did ~34 damage last turn (91->57). So two hits kills. We should Volt Switch out to Garchomp to absorb? Garchomp takes Body Press ~51 damage (132 from 183). Rough Skin chip. Could then pivot?

Alternatively Will-O-Wisp to burn Corv to halve Body Press.

Body Press (Def-based, no recoil) is the best damage option now. If Rotom Protects, Corviknight can Roost later. With Corviknight at 88/205 against Rotom-Wash, I'm checking the type matchup on Volt Switch — Corviknight's Steel typing actually resists Electric, so it's not as threatening as it first seems.

Considering options: Body Press on Rotom-Wash could do solid damage since it's at 42% HP, but Rotom might Protect or Volt Switch out first given its speed advantage. Switching Incineroar in for Flare Blitz is another possibility since it hits neutrally on the Water/Electric typing.

We just KO'd Corviknight with Volt Switch, need to switch. Options: Gholdengo 21% or Garchomp 72%. Opponent has Incineroar at 100% unknown third? Actually they brought 3: Incineroar, Garchomp (fainted), Corviknight (fainted). Wait that means opponent only has Incineroar left? But they brought 3, two fainted, so only Incineroar remains. Incineroar is my last Pokémon, so Parting Shot would fail and Fake Out is no longer usable. Garchomp (72%, Rough Skin, Atk -1, unknown item) is resisted by Fire, but Flare Blitz is still my only real damage. Sitrus Berry is saved for when Incineroar drops to half HP. The opponent still has Rotom-Wash (42%, Leftovers, Protect, Volt Switch), Gholdengo (21%, Life Orb) and possibly Dragonite, Kingambit and Tyranitar in back. Expect Garchomp to use Earthquake.

    Reasoning trace (151 words)
Incineroar's at full health while Garchomp sits at 72% with its Attack lowered from Intimidate, item unknown. Since Garchomp is Dragon/Ground, Flare Blitz would only be resisted by the Dragon typing, so I'm weighing whether that's still the best move here.

Fake Out isn't an option since Incineroar's already been in since the start, and Parting Shot would fail since my whole team besides Incineroar has fainted, leaving nothing to switch into. That leaves Flare Blitz or Protect, so I'm roughly calculating Flare Blitz damage against Garchomp's defenses — it looks like it'd land around 53 damage, which wouldn't be enough to knock out Garchomp's remaining ~144 HP, so I need to consider whether Incineroar can survive Garchomp's Earthquake in return.

Rough Skin will also chip Incineroar on contact, and Flare Blitz's recoil adds up too, but there's no better damage option available, so I'll just commit to Flare Blitz.

Incineroar is last mon at 100%. Garchomp at -1 needs max power to secure EQ KO. Mega boosts Atk enough to overcome Intimidate drop while still outspeeding 72-123 range. No need to setup or switch.

    Reasoning trace (343 words)
We have Garchomp vs Incineroar. Garchomp at -1 Atk, 72% HP. Incineroar full. We can EQ super effective. Should we mega? Mega Garchomp gets Sand Force but no sand. Actually stats change: Mega Garchomp slower? Base speed drops from 102 to 92. Our Garchomp speed 169 is max for regular. Mega would be slower but still faster than Incineroar (max 123). So okay.

But do we want to mega? Regular Garchomp has Rough Skin, good vs contact. Mega has Sand Force useless. Also regular has higher speed. So maybe don't mega. However garchompite item suggests mega gives more Atk and SpA. Attack increase. Might want mega for damage.

At -1, Earthquake vs Incineroar: Need calc. Garchomp Atk 182, -1 = 121 effective? Actually stage -1 is 0.66x. So 182*0.66=121. Earthquake 100 BP super effective 2x. Incineroar Def up to 156. Could be bulky. Might not OHKO. But we are faster.

Incineroar likely has Fake Out, Parting Shot, maybe Flare Blitz, Knock Off. It can Parting Shot again to lower our Atk further and pivot? But opponent has no remaining Pokemon? Wait they brought 3, two fainted, only Incineroar left. So Parting Shot would fail? In singles, if no switch available, Parting Shot just lowers stats? Actually Parting Shot fails if no switch? In gen9, if user has no bench, it just lowers stats and doesn't switch. So could lower our Atk/SpA.

We should just EQ. Don't need swords dance. Protect could scout but unnecessary.

Best is earthquake without mega to keep speed and Rough Skin? But mega gives more power to secure KO despite -1. Let's see: Mega Garchomp Atk stat? At level 50, range 171-244. Our Garchomp Atk 182 regular, mega would be higher, maybe ~ 200+? The stat shown is for current form? Our Garchomp stats [HP183 Atk182...] That's regular. If mega, Atk goes up significantly (+40 base). So damage higher.

We are at -1, so extra attack helps secure KO. Speed still outspeeds Incineroar even after mega drop (169 -> maybe ~ 150?). Still >123.

    So use earthquake [MEGA].

If Garchomp keeps EQ-ing, Protect cannot be chained, so after this turn I need to decide whether to trade Flare Blitz or accept the loss.

    Reasoning trace (115 words)
Checking the damage numbers: Incineroar sits at 53/202 HP while Mega Garchomp is at about 44%, roughly 88 of 200. I'm trying to reconcile the Earthquake damage against Incineroar—since it's Fire/Dark, Ground hits neutrally, so I'm working out how the attack with lowered Attack still brought Incineroar down from around 70 to 20 after its Sitrus Berry triggered.

Since Garchomp outspeeds, it moves first, so Protect from Incineroar would need priority to beat it—but Protect's priority means Incineroar protects before Garchomp can attack, blocking the Earthquake this turn, though that's only a temporary stall since it can't be stacked. I'm also considering Flare Blitz, which is resisted by Dragon-typing, limiting its damage against Garchomp.

Incineroar is my last Pokémon at 53/202, with no Sitrus left. Opposing Mega Garchomp is at 44% (about 88 HP) and has been using Earthquake. Flare Blitz is resisted and should deal only about 50 damage, so it won't KO. Protect blocks this turn's EQ but has a reduced success chance after last turn's use, and it gains nothing. Opponent still has Rotom-Wash (42%), Gholdengo (21%, Life Orb), and maybe Dragonite, Kingambit and Tyranitar. Likely lost, so I'm taking the damage.

    Reasoning trace (155 words)
Incineroar at 53 HP looks likely to go down to Garchomp's Earthquake given its lowered attack still deals solid damage, while Flare Blitz back is only neutral to resisted against Garchomp since Fire hits Dragon for resisted damage.

Protect is tricky since it was just used last turn and consecutive Protects have a reduced success chance, maybe only 1/3 here, so there's real risk it fails and Incineroar dies anyway. Parting Shot isn't viable since this is the last Pokemon with no one to switch into, so really the choice comes down to a risky Protect or an attack that probably doesn't secure the KO.

Even accounting for recoil knocking Incineroar down further, there's no path where it survives Garchomp's next Earthquake either way, so this is likely a loss regardless of choice. Flare Blitz at least puts damage in, but with no more Pokémon left after Incineroar falls, the outcome is effectively sealed.
