    Claude Sonnet 5.5 brought Incineroar,garchomp,dragapult3,252 tok · 5.0 s · $0.0100

Bringing Incineroar, Garchomp, Dragapult. Opponent is heavy on steel, dark, dragon and ghost. Fire and Ground hit their steels, and Dragapult is fast. Plan: Incineroar leads with Intimidate and Fake Out, then Garchomp mega for Earthquake, Dragapult to clean up.

    Reasoning trace (70 words)
Facing a team heavy on steel, dark, dragon, and ghost types, I'm thinking Gholdengo with a scarf for speed, Incineroar for its fire coverage against steel and intimidate utility, and Garchomp with mega evolution to hit steel types with ground. Fire coverage looks especially valuable against Scizor, Metagross, and Kingambit.

Settling on Incineroar, Garchomp, and Dragapult as my core three, with Incineroar as a solid lead thanks to intimidate.

    Claude Sonnet 5.5 used Darkestlariat3,745 tok · 8.4 s · $0.0125

Turn 1: Fake Out has no effect on their Dragapult (Ghost). Using Darkestlariat for super effective damage. Their Dragapult is faster than Incineroar. Plan: Garchomp mega for Earthquake into their steels, then my Dragapult cleans up. Watch for Kingambit, Scizor and Metagross.

    Reasoning trace (88 words)
Fake Out won't work since Dragapult is Ghost-type, but Darkest Lariat would be super effective against it being Dragon/Ghost. The issue is Dragapult outspeeds Incineroar and will likely hit it with Shadow Ball or Dragon Darts first, so I should consider Parting Shot to pivot into Garchomp instead.

Running the numbers, Darkest Lariat should deal roughly 85-100% damage against Dragapult, nearly OHKOing it even accounting for the speed disadvantage. That's strong enough that I'll just go with Darkest Lariat for the big hit rather than pivoting out.

    Claude Sonnet 5.5 used Flareblitz4,189 tok · 9.3 s · $0.0124

Their Dragapult is at 4% with Life Orb, so it likely dies to its own recoil if it attacks, or it switches. Flare Blitz kills it if it stays and hits Scizor, Kingambit and Metagross hard if it switches. Next: Garchomp mega for Earthquake into their steels, then my Dragapult cleans up. Watch for Chandelure.

    Reasoning trace (107 words)
Dragapult is at 4% HP, faster than my Incineroar who's at 107 HP, with its Special Attack dropped. If it attacks with a Life Orb move, the recoil alone—about 10% of its health—would likely knock it out after dealing damage, unless the attack misses.

Comparing Darkest Lariat versus Flare Blitz here: Lariat kills it outright if it stays in, while Flare Blitz is resisted but still kills at 4% HP since Dragon doesn't resist Fire much in this context. Flare Blitz is the safer pick if Dragapult switches into a Steel-type like Scizor, Kingambit, or Metagross, since it would hit much harder there than Lariat would.

    Claude Sonnet 5.5 switched to Dragapult4,931 tok · 16.7 s · $0.0175

Their Dragapult is down. Their Garchomp is active and probably outspeeds Incineroar, and Earthquake is super effective on it. Switching to my Dragapult: it outspeeds them and Draco Meteor should KO. Still to come from their side: Kingambit, Scizor, Chandelure or Metagross (one of them). Keep my Garchomp for the steels.

    Reasoning trace (157 words)
With Garchomp now in against my Incineroar at 125/202, Fake Out won't work since Incineroar's already been out. I'm weighing Parting Shot to pivot into Dragapult or stay in, considering Garchomp's speed and likely Earthquake or Dragon Claw.

Earthquake would hit Incineroar super effectively given its Fire typing, likely dealing massive damage, so Parting Shot carries risk of Incineroar fainting before switching out. Comparing options: switching to my own Garchomp takes Earthquake neutrally, while switching to Dragapult outspeeds opposing Garchomp but is weak to Dragon Claw -- though Dragapult's Draco Meteor would hit back hard for likely heavy damage given Garchomp's dragon weakness.

Weighing whether switching to Dragapult risks a hit from EQ or Dragon Claw, versus just staying in with Incineroar and using Parting Shot to weaken the opponent's attack before pivoting out safely. Parting Shot seems like the better option since it debuffs Garchomp's attack right as I switch, cushioning whatever comes in next.

    Claude Sonnet 5.5 used Dracometeor4,457 tok · 7.9 s · $0.0112

Turn 4: My Dragapult is at 8 HP and outspeeds their Mega Garchomp (Sand Force). Draco Meteor should KO it, but Life Orb recoil will likely faint my Dragapult afterwards. Next: Incineroar or my Garchomp (Mega) against their last Pokémon (Kingambit, Scizor, Chandelure or Metagross).

    Reasoning trace (125 words)
My Dragapult is at 8 HP, and Life Orb recoil (10% of 165 HP) would be 16 damage, which kills it even after attacking—recoil applies regardless of whether the hit KOs the target. Still, taking down Garchomp is worth the trade, so I'm checking whether Draco Meteor at 90% accuracy actually finishes off Mega Garchomp.

Running the numbers, Draco Meteor's Dragon STAB plus super effective damage plus Life Orb boost comfortably one-shots Mega Garchomp's ~185 HP, while Shadow Ball falls short and U-turn also triggers the same fatal recoil without guaranteeing the KO. Draco Meteor is clearly the best option: I move first, so if it connects I trade my fainting Dragapult for their Garchomp and bring in Incineroar or my own Garchomp afterward.

    Claude Sonnet 5.5 switched to Garchomp4,643 tok · 11.4 s · $0.0148

Their Dragapult is down. Their Mega Garchomp (Sand Force) is at full HP and has Earthquake and Dragon Claw. One more of Kingambit, Scizor, Chandelure or Metagross is still to come. Bring in my Garchomp, Mega Evolve it and use Dragon Claw. Keep Incineroar's Fake Out and Intimidate for the last Pokémon.

    Reasoning trace (115 words)
With Dragapult down, I need to pick between Garchomp and Incineroar against their full-health Mega Garchomp. My Garchomp's speed of 169 should let it outpace their Mega Garchomp despite its Sand Force boost, since their speed range tops out around 158.

Incineroar is risky here since Earthquake is super effective on it, and Intimidate alone won't offset the damage. I'm leaning toward keeping Garchomp in since it can outspeed and trade blows with neutral Earthquake damage while chipping away with Rough Skin.

Swords Dance isn't relevant here either. Incineroar would eat an Earthquake badly, so that's out. Garchomp is the right call—megaing it should let it outspeed their likely slower threat and strike first.

Their Dragapult is down. Their Mega Garchomp is at full HP with Earthquake and Dragon Claw. My Garchomp Mega Evolves and uses Dragon Claw. One of Kingambit, Scizor, Chandelure or Metagross is still to come. Keep Incineroar's Fake Out and Intimidate for it.

    Reasoning trace (182 words)
I'm comparing speed stats between our Garchomp and the opponent's Mega Garchomp, trying to work out whether our non-mega speed of 169 actually outpaces their mega form once its lower base speed is factored in.

Setting speed aside, I'm checking Dragon Claw damage against Mega Garchomp's boosted Defense—roughly 60% of its HP—against what their mega-boosted Attack could do back to us in return.

Checking the base stats: mega Garchomp is 108/170/115/120/95/92, so my shown Def of 115 at 0 EVs lines up with base 95, while Atk 182 matches base 130 neutral at 252 EVs, and Speed 169 fits base 102 — confirming I'm not actually looking at the mega form's spread here.

If I do go mega, Atk jumps to roughly 222 with a neutral nature at max investment, and Speed could hit 158 with Jolly, outpacing most opposing megas unless they're also maxed and positive-natured for speed. With Rough Skin punishing contact and Dragon Claw hitting for around 160+ damage against typical mega bulk (roughly 121-183 Def range), the mega transformation looks like a clear power spike worth considering.

Their Mega Garchomp is at 7% HP and -1 Atk, and it moves first. It likely hits me with Dragon Claw or Earthquake. My Incineroar is at 125 HP, so it survives and then Darkestlariat finishes the Garchomp. One of Kingambit, Scizor, Chandelure or Metagross is still to come.

Metagross is at 30% and Garchomp at 7%. Darkestlariat just did about 70% to Metagross, so another one should finish it, then Garchomp. Flare Blitz is not needed because of its recoil.

    Reasoning trace (114 words)
Metagross is at 30% with Garchomp at 7% in the back, and Metagross likely moves first with options like Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt, or priority Bullet Punch against Incineroar's 125 HP. Darkest Lariat already did 70% to Metagross so another hit finishes it, but Flare Blitz is the surer kill given STAB and super effective fire damage at 120 base power.

Since Darkest Lariat avoids recoil and 30% remaining is comfortably less than the 70% it already dealt, it's the safer choice even accounting for damage roll variance. Metagross's ability doesn't change the calculation, and the risk of Metagross KOing Incineroar back with Meteor Mash is low, so I'll go with Darkest Lariat.
