    Claude Sonnet 5.5 brought Dragapult,garchomp,gholdengo2,851 tok · 2.0 s · $0.0068

Mirror match. Plan: lead Dragapult (fastest, Life Orb), then Garchomp (Mega) and Gholdengo as backup. Unknown opponent habits so far.

  2. Turn 1
Chimps at the Zoo used Shadowball
    Claude Sonnet 5.5 used Flamethrower3,033 tok · 1.8 s · $0.0065

Mirror match. Lead Dragapult (Life Orb). Opposing Gholdengo is active and likely has a Choice Scarf. Flamethrower is super effective on it, and so is Shadowball. Garchomp (Mega) and Gholdengo are my backups.

    Claude Sonnet 5.5 switched to Garchomp3,414 tok · 7.3 s · $0.0092

Opposing Gholdengo outspeeds my team, probably Choice Scarf, and it OHKO'd my Dragapult with Shadow Ball. Plan: bring Garchomp in, Mega Evolve, and use Earthquake, which is super effective on Gholdengo. Keep my own Scarf Gholdengo as backup.

    Reasoning trace (91 words)
Dragapult went down to a Shadow Ball that hit hard enough to suggest Gholdengo is running a Choice Scarf, since its speed outpaces my Dragapult's 213. That means it's locked into Shadow Ball now, which hits Garchomp neutrally, so bringing Garchomp in looks safe enough to consider.

Mega Garchomp's Earthquake lands super effective on Gholdengo's Steel typing, and with its boosted Attack should do massive damage even after Shadow Ball chips it. Switching Garchomp in, absorbing the hit, Mega Evolving, then firing off Earthquake should be the winning line here.

Opposing Gholdengo (likely Choice Scarf, my guess) OHKO'd my Dragapult with Shadow Ball. It is likely locked into Shadow Ball, which Garchomp resists only via... nothing (Ghost is neutral on Dragon/Ground). Mega Garchomp Earthquake now. Keep my Scarf Gholdengo as backup.

Chimps at the Zoo used Dracometeor
    Claude Sonnet 5.5 used Dragonclaw5,092 tok · 13.5 s · $0.0224

Mirror match. The opposing Dragapult is a copy of mine, so it probably has Life Orb and 213 Speed, which outspeeds my Garchomp at 158. My Scarf Gholdengo (223 Speed) outspeeds it, and its Shadow Ball OHKOs Dragapult. Opposing Gholdengo is already down. Remaining unknown: one of incineroar, kingambit, garchomp or corviknight.

    Reasoning trace (187 words)
The opponent's Dragapult mirrors mine exactly - same Life Orb set with Draco Meteor, Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, and U-turn, and since it's a copy of my team it likely shares my 213 Speed, outpacing Garchomp's 158. I'm also checking whether their Gholdengo carries a Choice Scarf at 149 base speed.

Working through the damage math: Dragapult's Draco Meteor would likely one-shot Garchomp given the speed and type disadvantage, so I should expect to lose that Pokémon on switch-in. A scarfed Gholdengo at 223 Speed would outrun my Dragapult though, and since it's Steel/Ghost, Shadow Ball actually hits it super effectively while Draco Meteor is only resisted - so Gholdengo isn't a safe switch against my Dragapult's Shadow Ball.

Garchomp might barely survive Shadow Ball but Draco Meteor would finish it off, and since both are at the same speed tier, staying in is a gamble on which move the opponent picks. Switching to Gholdengo only pays off if Dragapult doesn't lead with Shadow Ball, since Draco would just be resisted anyway — overall it seems like a coin flip either way depending on the opponent's choice.

  5. Turn 4
Chimps at the Zoo used Shadowball
    Claude Sonnet 5.5 used Shadowball4,194 tok · 4.5 s · $0.0083

Gholdengo's Choice Scarf (223 Speed) outspeeds Dragapult's 213. Shadow Ball should OHKO the Life Orb Dragapult, which is at 90% HP. After that, one of Incineroar, Kingambit, Garchomp or Corviknight is left. Gholdengo is locked into its first move; Make It Rain is the better pick against the steel and dark targets.

    Reasoning trace (45 words)
With Choice Scarf, Gholdengo's 149 base speed boosts to 223, well above Dragapult's 145-213 range, so I'll always outspeed it. Shadow Ball is super effective against Dragapult, and with my 185 SpA against its 95 SpD at 90% HP, I'm calculating the damage output.
