- Team previewClaude Haiku 5.5 brought
Incineroar, garchomp, gholdengoIncineroar's Intimidate weakens the opposing physical attackers (Garchomp, Kingambit), and Fake Out and Parting Shot give it strong support. Garchomp is fast and hits hard, and Gholdengo covers the special side and Rotom-Wash.
Reasoning trace (58 words)
I need to pick 3 from my team against their torkoal/venusaur/gholdengo/garchomp/rotomwash/kingambit lineup. Incineroar looks like a strong bring with intimidate against their physical threats plus fake out, and garchomp gives me speed and power, while gholdengo could handle rotomwash or venusaur but I'm checking its ground weakness. I'll go with incineroar, garchomp, and gholdengo, leading with incineroar.
MiMo V2.6 Flash broughtTorkoal, venusaur, garchompSun core (torkoal + venusaur) gives eruption pressure and chlorophyll speed, and garchomp's earthquake handles Archaludon, Kingambit, and Incineroar — the steel types that otherwise wall Venusaur's grass/poison coverage. Speed in sun plus the ground coverage decides this pick.
Reasoning trace (543 words)
Let me think about team preview. Opponent team: incineroar, garchomp, gholdengo, kingambit, sinistcha, archaludon. My team: torkoal (drought, eruption), venusaur (chlorophyll mega), garchomp, gholdengo, rotomwash, kingambit scarf. Sun team core: torkoal + venusaur. Third: gholdengo or garchomp or kingambit. Opponent: incineroar has flare blitz, dark; kingambit scarf; garchomp; archaludon; sinistcha; gholdengo. Sun lead torkoal eruption. Opponent switch-ins: incineroar (fire resist? Fire/Dark takes neutral from fire... fire is resisted by fire, so 0.5x), garchomp (resists? no, neutral... actually fire vs dragon = 0.5x, ground neutral → 0.5x), kingambit (steel resists fire 0.5x), archaludon (steel 0.5x), sinistcha neutral? Grass/Ghost: grass resists fire? No — grass resists fire? Fire is resisted by fire, dragon, grass... wait: Fire-type moves are resisted by Fire, Dragon, Grass, and Rock? Let's recall: Fire resisted by Fire, Dragon, Grass, Rock, Water. So sinistcha (grass) resists. Anyway Torkoal eruption in sun is very strong. Venusaur with chlorophyll doubles speed in sun, growth doubles special attack in sun. Third pick options: Gholdengo (good matchup, blocks spin? no spin on opponent), Garchomp (rocks + EQ, good vs incineroar/kingambit/gholdengo/Archaludon), Kingambit scarf (walls sinistcha, beats gholdengo). Opponent has Archaludon which resists both fire and... Venusaur's solarbeam is neutral on Archaludon? Grass vs Steel/Dragon: steel resists grass, dragon resists grass → 0.25x. Sludgebomb neutral on steel? poison vs steel = 0.5x... poison resisted by steel, ghost, ground. So Archaludon walls Venusaur. Garchomp handles Archaludon with earthquake (ground vs steel/dragon = 2x from dragon? ground vs steel 2x, vs dragon 1x → 2x). Yes EQ hits Archaludon super effectively. Gholdengo on my side: Make it Rain is boosted in... it's steel, hits sinistcha? steel vs grass/ghost = neutral (grass resists? no, steel is resisted by fire, water, electric, steel). Actually steel resisted by Fire, Water, Electric, Steel. So neutral on sinistcha. Good. Consider lead matchup: Torkoal lead is classic sun lead with rocks. Opponent likely leads incineroar (fake out) or garchomp. I think sun core + Garchomp is strong: Garchomp handles Archaludon, Kingambit, Incineroar-ish, Gholdengo with EQ. But Gholdengo is also good: immune to... no. Let's pick: torkoal, venusaur, garchomp. Alternatively lead garchomp for rocks? Torkoal gives sun for Venusaur. I'll go torkoal lead. Concern: Opponent's incineroar with flare blitz hits Torkoal hard, kingambit. But sun weakens water, not fire. Venusaur mega evolves: venusaurite → mega venusaur with thick fat, chlorophyll lost? Mega Venusaur ability is Thick Fat... Actually in gens, Mega Venusaur has Thick Fat. But in this sim, "venusaurite" item with chlorophyll ability listed - maybe it's a battle item that keeps chlorophyll? The format is "gen9championsrotomarenabssregmb" — champions rotom arena? Perhaps mega evolution gives new ability. If mega loses chlorophyll, sun less useful for venusaur speed. Hmm. But the team has torkoal + venusaur, so intended sun. Actually, if venusaur mega-evolves and loses chlorophyll, maybe better to not mega? Legal actions don't include mega options here though. Final: BRING: torkoal, venusaur, garchomp. Wait — consider that Gholdengo might be better than garchomp vs opponent's team: gholdengo walls sinistcha, outspeeds, threatens with shadowball/makeitrain. Opponent has gholdengo mirror, kingambit beats gholdengo though. Garchomp with sash handles kingambit's sucker punch? Scarf kingambit... Garchomp is fast (169) but kingambit scarf may be slower. I'll go with garchomp for EQ coverage on archaludon/incineroar/kingambit. Speed factor: sun lets venusaur outspeed everything.
- Turn 1Claude Haiku 5.5 used
FakeoutFake Out only works on the first turn, and Incineroar is much faster than the very slow Torkoal (Speed 20). Fake Out is a guaranteed flinch that stops Torkoal from acting this turn, and it chips damage while I set up.
Reasoning trace (33 words)
Against the slow Torkoal in Sunny Day, Incineroar's Fake Out should land first and flinch it on turn one, since Torkoal's low Speed means it won't act before the flinch takes effect.
MiMo V2.6 Flash switched toVenusaurTorkoal's Eruption is only resisted damage into Incineroar, while Venusaur benefits enormously from the sun: chlorophyll grants speed, Fire moves are resisted by its Grass/Poison typing, and it threatens chlorophyll-boosted offense afterward. Speed and matchup both favor bringing Venusaur in now.
Reasoning trace (837 words)
Incineroar is Fire/Dark. Torkoal's Eruption is Fire, resisted by Incineroar. Eruption at full HP with sun would still do decent damage? Fire resisted (0.5x) with sun (1.5x) = 0.75x. Incineroar has 95 HP/90 SpD. Torkoal SpA 137. Eruption 150 BP... Might do around 40-50%. Incineroar likely has Flare Blitz (physical), Dark moves, U-turn, etc. Alternatively switch to Venusaur — but Venusaur is Grass/Poison, sun teams often have Venusaur with chlorophyll... Wait, Venusaur here has chlorophyll ability and it's sunny. Switching in Venusaur gives chlorophyll speed boost, but Venusaur could take a Flare Blitz (Fire resisted0.5x? No, Grass takes neutral from Fire... actually Fire vs Grass = 0.5x, Poison neutral... Fire vs Grass/Poison = 0.5x total). Flare Blitz resisted. Incineroar's Darkest Lariat vs Venusaur neutral. Hmm. But Venusaur with chlorophyll in sun would be very fast. Switching to Venusaur seems strong — chlorophyll doubles speed, sleep powder, solar beam. However, the safest might be Stealth Rock first? Incineroar likely U-turns or uses Knock Off. Actually consider: Torkoal Eruption in sun vs Fire/Dark Incineroar. Resisted. Not great. Switching to Venusaur in sun with chlorophyll is the classic sun team play. Venusaur resists Fire moves, is fast with chlorophyll, can fire off solarbeam (no charge in sun) or sleep powder. But wait — the LEGAL ACTIONS only include switching to venusaur or garchomp. Garchomp is Dragon/Ground, takes neutral from Fire (resists? Fire vs Dragon 0.5x, Ground neutral → 0.5x), and neutral from Dark. Garchomp also has rough skin and sash. But Venusaur with chlorophyll in sun seems best. Counterpoint: Incineroar might use a Rock move (stone edge) or have Flare Blitz with sun boost. Sun boosts Fire moves1.5x. Flare Blitz: 120 BP * 1.5 sun * 0.5 resist (grass) * neutral on poison... Grass/Poison: Fire vs Grass 0.5, Fire vs Poison 1 → 0.5x total. So 120 * 1.5 * 0.5 = 90 BP effective-ish. Incineroar Atk with -1? No, Venusaur comes in fresh. Incineroar Atk 115 base. Venusaur HP 187, Def 103. Could do maybe 30-40%. Then Venusaur can sleep powder or solar beam. Alternatively Torkoal Eruption deals solid damage even resisted: 150 BP * 1.5 sun * 0.5 = 112.5 effective. Torkoal SpA 137 vs Incineroar SpD 90 (base). Could do ~50%. But Incineroar can KO or heavily damage Torkoal, or set up. Hmm, but consider that Venusaur also needs to eventually sweep. Actually with sun and chlorophyll, Venusaur is the win condition. Switching it in on a resisted hit is good. But opponent might U-turn out to a counter. Still, Venusaur is fine. Also consider Stealth Rock — getting hazards up turn 1 is valuable, but Torkoal might take heavy damage. I think switching to Venusaur is the strongest play: speed via chlorophyll, resists Incineroar's Fire STAB, and sun-boosted Solar Beam is ready. Actually, wait — do we know the sun is set? "Weather: Sunnyday" yes, Torkoal's Drought. One concern: Venusaur's ability is chlorophyll (not Overgrow), confirming sun abuse. Decision: switch to venusaur. Hmm, but there's also a consideration: opponent's Incineroar might use Knock Off (removes Venusaurite!) or Fake Out (doesn't work switch-in... Fake Out works on switched-in mons? Fake Out works if the Pokémon moved in that turn — actually Fake Out only works on the first turn out, including switches? Fake Out activates if the user hasn't moved since entering; the target's incoming status doesn't matter. Fake Out works on a switched-in Pokémon. But Venusaur takes small damage). Knock Off removing Venusaurite would be bad. Venusaur without mega... in this format it says "venusaurite" item, and tera not available. This might be a mega format? "gen9championsrotomarenabssregmb" — champions format maybe includes mega evolution. Hmm, but terastallization says No. If mega is available, Venusaur-Mega has thick fat ability... but the ability listed is chlorophyll. If mega evolves, chlorophyll replaced. Actually if it's a mega format, switching in Venusaur and mega evolving would give it bulk. But we can't control mega evolution timing in this simple action set. Knock Off risk exists either way. Still, Venusaur switch seems best. Alternatively Garchomp with focus sash could set up... but sun doesn't help garchomp. Let me think about what gives best expected value. Opponent Incineroar turn 1 options: Flare Blitz, Knock Off, U-turn, Parting Shot, Will-o-wisp, Fake Out, Stone Edge. If I switch Venusaur: - Flare Blitz resisted: fine (~35%) - Knock Off: removes item, ~20% damage - U-turn: small damage, they switch- Will-o-wisp: burns Venusaur — bad for physical but Venusaur is special; burn reduces Atk only, special unaffected (except residual damage) - Fake Out: small Then Venusaur threatens with sleep powder / solar beam. If I Eruption: ~50% to Incineroar but Torkoal takes a hit; if they Knock Off or Flare Blitz sun-boosted, Torkoal could take40-60%. I'll switch to Venusaur. Actually, hold on — maybe the "best" play is Stealth Rock to punish switches (opponent likely U-turns). But Venusaur keeps momentum too. Also note: opponent's bench includes garchomp, gholdengo, kingambit, sinistcha, archaludon — none revealed. Venusaur vs archaludon? Archaludon resists... whatever. I'll go with switching to venusaur.
- Turn 2Claude Haiku 5.5 used
FlareblitzSun boosts Flare Blitz, and Incineroar's Attack is high. Venusaur is at 82% and Grass resists Fire, but the boosted hit should still deal heavy damage. Incineroar is not threatened by Venusaur's attacks, so attacking is better than switching or Parting Shot.
Reasoning trace (58 words)
Checking the matchup: Venusaur at 82% HP is Grass/Poison, so sun-boosted Flare Blitz only deals 0.5x damage since Grass resists Fire. Torkoal just switched in and got hit by Intimidate. Flare Blitz is my main damage tool despite recoil, since alternatives like switching to Gholdengo don't offer much more against Venusaur's typing. I'll go with Flare Blitz.
MiMo V2.6 Flash switched toTorkoalIncineroar's sun-boosted Flare Blitz likely knocks out Venusaur, and Sleep Powder is only 75% accurate — a miss means a lost Pokémon. Torkoal resists Fire and has huge physical defense, so switching there safely absorbs the hit while keeping sun up.
Reasoning trace (400 words)
Incineroar is Fire/Dark. Venusaur has chlorophyll in sun (but mega... venusaurite, ability shown as chlorophyll — mega venusaur has thick fat). Sun is up. Growth doubles atk+spa in sun. Incineroar threatens with Flare Blitz. Venusaur at 155/187. Flare Blitz in sun from Incineroar would likely KO. Sleep Powder could neutralize it but 75% accuracy. Sludge Bomb doesn't KO Incineroar. Switching to Torkoal is safe? Flare Blitz on Torkoal resisted... Fire resisted, Torkoal takes little. But then sun continues. The deciding factor: bad matchup — Venusaur vs Incineroar in sun, Flare Blitz KO. But Growth in sun + Chlorophyll... Venusaur outspeeds. If sleep lands, we can set up. Risky at 75%. Switching to garchomp: Intimidate already? No, Intimidate only triggers on switch-in of Incineroar — it already triggered turn... Actually Intimidate triggers when Incineroar switches in; garchomp switching in would get -1 atk. Earthquake would be weakened. Also Flare Blitz on garchomp does decent damage but not KO. I think switching to Torkoal is the safe play to absorb the fire attack. But then Torkoal with low SpD... Flare Blitz is physical, Torkoal DEF 176, would take little. Then next turn, Venusaur back in on a predicted move. Alternatively sleep powder: if it hits, Venusaur can Growth and sweep. Given the aggressive tournament play, going for sleep seems reasonable but 75% acc miss means KO. I'll switch to torkoal as the safe play. Actually, consider: opponent could use Darkest Lariat (Dark) which hits Torkoal neutrally, still not KO. Torkoal is defensive physical wall. Fire move in sun would be boosted 1.5x but Torkoal resists 0.5x → net0.75x, plus sun boosts. Still not KO. Hmm, but sun-boosted Flare Blitz on Venusaur — Venusaur resists? No, Grass/Poison doesn't resist Fire. Takes1.5x... Venusaur SpD 122, HP 155. Flare Blitz from Incineroar ATK 115ish (after... no intimidate on Venusaur switch? Actually Incineroar's Intimidate triggered when it came in, Venusaur switched in after, so Venusaur is at full atk). Incineroar attack stat unknown but likely ~150-160 with adamant. Flare Blitz STAB 120 BP * 1.5 sun * 0.5... wait, Venusaur takes neutral from Fire. Sun boost: 1.5x. That's huge.120*1.5 STAB... Flare Blitz is Fire STAB for Incineroar: 120*1.5=180, *1.5 sun=270, *1.5... that's ~400 effective BP. Venusaur at 155 HP would likely be KO'd. So switch or sleep. Switch to torkoal is safest. Then sun stays up, Torkoal can also threaten with Eruption later. Decision: SWITCH: torkoal.
- Turn 3Claude Haiku 5.5 switched to
GarchompFlare Blitz is resisted by Fire-type Torkoal, so Incineroar does little damage. Garchomp switching in is faster than Torkoal (169 vs 20) and its Earthquake is super effective against Fire, likely knocking it out before it moves.
Reasoning trace (92 words)
Against Torkoal's Fire typing, Flare Blitz isn't effective since Torkoal resists Fire, and its weak defense doesn't make up for that. Parting Shot seems better here, dropping Torkoal's attack while letting me pivot out safely. Switching to Garchomp looks strong: Earthquake hits Torkoal for 2x weakness to Ground, Garchomp outspeeds it massively, and Torkoal's Fire STAB does only neutral damage back against Dragon/Ground typing. With Torkoal already at 72% and Garchomp's attack stat overwhelming its defense, this switch likely nets a clean KO for free. I'll go with switching to Garchomp.
MiMo V2.6 Flash switched toVenusaurIncineroar resists Fire, so Eruption won't threaten a KO. Venusaur has Chlorophyll + Solar Beam under sun and resists Flare Blitz, making it a strong switch to threaten an OHKO on the Fire/Dark type. Incineroar already used Fake Out on turn 1, so it can't Fake Out Venusaur this turn.
Reasoning trace (298 words)
Incineroar is Fire/Dark, so it resists Fire. Eruption won't do much. But Torkoal is at 129/177 HP, so Eruption is still decent. However, Incineroar resists Fire and has good bulk. The best play might be to Stealth Rock or switch to Venusaur to threaten with Solar Beam under sun. Actually, Venusaur has Chlorophyll and Solar Beam - under sun it's a one-turn120 BP Grass move that would hit Incineroar super effectively. But Venusaur is at 82.9% and Incineroar has Fake Out priority... wait, Fake Out only works on the first turn out. Actually, Venusaur came in on turn 1 and got Faked Out, so Incineroar can't Fake Out anymore since it already used it. But wait, Fake Out can be used multiple times - it just only works on the first turn the user is out. Incineroar has been out since turn 1, so it can still use Fake Out this turn. Actually no, Fake Out works on the first turn after the user switches in. Incineroar has been active since turn 1, so it can still use Fake Out on turn 2 (it did use it turn 1). Can it use it turn 3? Yes, Fake Out can be used every turn as long as... no, Fake Out only works on the turn the user enters battle. Incineroar entered on turn 1, so it used Fake Out turn 1. On turns 2 and 3, Fake Out won't work. So Venusaur can come in safely. Venusaur with Solar Beam under sun would OHKO Incineroar. That seems like the best play. Actually, let me reconsider. Torkoal is at 129/177 HP. Eruption at 129/177 = 72.9% power. Against a resisted Incineroar with90% HP... probably won't KO. Switching to Venusaur seems better to set up a Solar Beam KO. Switch Venusaur.
- Turn 4Claude Haiku 5.5 used
StoneedgeGarchomp outspeeds Venusaur, so it moves first. Stone Edge hits Grass/Poison for 2x and can likely knock out the 82% Venusaur before it acts, though its 80% accuracy is a risk. Earthquake is only neutral and would not reliably KO.
Reasoning trace (136 words)
I'm checking type matchups for Garchomp against Venusaur: Earthquake nets only 1x since Ground is resisted by Grass but super effective on Poison, and Outrage ends up resisted too since Dragon is weak to Grass's typing but neutral on Poison. Stone Edge looks like the better option against Venusaur's Grass/Poison typing. So I'm estimating damage numbers: Stone Edge at 80% accuracy gets 2x effectiveness, roughly 110 damage against Venusaur's estimated 131 HP, which isn't a guaranteed KO but close. I'm also weighing speed (Garchomp outspeeds) and considering whether Venusaur's Sludge Bomb or Grass moves pose much threat back, since Grass is resisted by Garchomp's Ground/Dragon typing. Given Garchomp moves first and Stone Edge offers the best shot at a knockout despite the accuracy risk, I'll go with Stone Edge over the safer but weaker Earthquake.
MiMo V2.6 Flash usedSolarbeamChlorophyll in the sun gives Venusaur speed over Garchomp, and Solar Beam fires instantly under Sun for a super-effective 120 BP STAB—likely a 2HKO. Sleep Powder's 75% accuracy is too risky when we already have the speed and damage edge.
Reasoning trace (217 words)
Mega Venusaur has chlorophyll... wait, but chlorophyll only in sun; it's sunny. Actually Mega Venusaur's ability is Thick Fat normally, but here it shows chlorophyll. Speed 100 vs Garchomp 102 — in sun, chlorophyll doubles speed to 200, outspeeding Garchomp. Garchomp is 4x weak to Ice, but we don't have ice move. Solarbeam in sun fires instantly. Grass vs Garchomp: Ground takes 2x, Dragon takes 1x → 2x effective. Solarbeam 120 STAB (Venusaur Grass) with mega stats... likely KO? Mega Venusaur SpA 130 base (167 stat). Garchomp SpD 85. Solarbeam vs neutral-ish2x: ~ maybe 60-70%. Not a guaranteed KO. Garchomp could Swords Dance or earthquake (2x vs Venusaur? Grass/Poison: Ground 2x, so earthquake super effective). Alternative: Sleep Powder (75% acc) puts Garchomp to sleep, then set up. Risky accuracy. SolarBeam does solid damage and likely2HKO while Garchomp's earthquake also 2HKO probably. With chlorophyll we outspeed. Sludgebomb neutral 90 BP vs solarbeam 120 BP 2x = effectively better. Actually sludgebomb neutral: 90 vs solarbeam effective 240... solarbeam much stronger. Consider: Garchomp might have scale rush... just choose solarbeam for consistent damage, or sleeppowder to disable. If sleep lands, we can Growth freely. But 25% miss chance and sleep only ~1-3 turns. Safe damage: solarbeam. Given sun makes it 1-turn, speed advantage — solarbeam likely 2HKO. I'd go solarbeam.
- Turn 5MiMo V2.6 Flash used
SolarbeamVenusaur outsped Garchomp last turn and Solar Beam did ~59%, so another Solar Beam in sun will knock out the 41% Garchomp before it can move. Speed and the guaranteed knockout decide this.
Reasoning trace (88 words)
Garchomp at 41% — Solar Beam in sun is 120 BP, one-shot likely. Speed: Venusaur base 100 vs Garchomp 102; Venusaur may be slower but chlorophyll doubles speed in sun... but Venusaur's ability is chlorophyll only in base form? Mega Venusaur has Thick Fat, so chlorophyll doesn't work. But Venusaur outsped? Last turn Garchomp used Stone Edge after Solar Beam — Venusaur moved first, so Venusaur is faster (or Garchomp is not scarf). Actually Venusaur moved first, so Venusaur is faster. Solar Beam should knock out 41% Garchomp.
Claude Haiku 5.5 usedEarthquakeGarchomp is much faster than Venusaur (169 vs 80), so it moves first. Earthquake is 100% accurate and hits Venusaur's Grass/Poison typing for neutral damage, which should be enough to knock it out or nearly so before its Solar Beam matters. Stone Edge has 80% accuracy and already missed once.
Reasoning trace (70 words)
Checking matchup math: Garchomp is low HP while Venusaur is healthy, and I'm working out type effectiveness—Earthquake is neutral against Grass/Poison since Ground's weaknesses cancel out, Outrage is resisted, but Venusaur's Solarbeam boosted by the sun could hit hard in return. Garchomp's speed advantage means it strikes first though, so Earthquake with 100% accuracy and solid power looks like the safest, most reliable choice over the shakier Stone Edge.
Claude Haiku 5.5 switched toGholdengoGarchomp has fainted, so I must switch. Gholdengo is at full HP, outspeeds Venusaur (136 vs 80), and its 203 Sp. Atk should threaten a KO before Venusaur's charged Solar Beam lands. Incineroar would also be fine, but Gholdengo is the stronger attacker here.
Reasoning trace (129 words)
With Garchomp down, I need to pick between Incineroar at 90.6% health and full-HP Gholdengo to face Venusaur, which is now out from under weather. Venusaur's Grass/Poison typing is weak to Fire, so Incineroar's Flare Blitz looks like strong super-effective damage here. But Gholdengo outspeeds Venusaur significantly (136 vs 80) and carries 203 special attack with Life Orb, so even neutral coverage like Shadow Ball could do heavy damage to Venusaur's 80 base HP and 100 SpD, potentially netting a quick knockout without needing super-effective STAB. Weighing the matchup against the unknown opponent's likely picks like Rotom-Wash, Garchomp, or Kingambit, I confirm Steel doesn't resist Electric, so Gholdengo isn't immune there -- but overall its speed and power make it the stronger lead, so I'll go with Gholdengo.
- Turn 6Claude Haiku 5.5 used
MakeitrainGholdengo outspeeds Venusaur (136 vs 80), and sun has ended, so Solar Beam needs a charge turn. Make It Rain is the strongest neutral hit and should leave Venusaur badly damaged or close to a KO. The self-debuff is acceptable here.
Reasoning trace (126 words)
I'm checking the matchup between Gholdengo and Venusaur, noting the sun is gone so Solar Beam needs a charge turn, Gholdengo outspeeds, and I'm working out whether Make It Rain's Steel typing is resisted by Venusaur's Grass/Poison typing. Estimating Venusaur's rough HP and SpD against Gholdengo's 203 SpA, I'm weighing Make It Rain's 120 BP (and its self-inflicted SpA drop) against Shadow Ball's cleaner 80 BP with no drawback, trying to figure out which hits harder and whether either could secure the KO. Make It Rain looks like it does noticeably more damage even accounting for the STAB math, leaving Venusaur around 20% HP but likely not knocking it out outright. I'll go with Make It Rain since it maximizes damage despite the SpA penalty.
MiMo V2.6 Flash usedGrowthhallucinationReasoning trace (601 words)
Gholdengo outspeeds Venusaur? Venusaur speed 100, Gholdengo 84. Venusaur is faster. Sludgebomb is not very effective vs Steel. Gholdengo likely threatens with Make It Rain/Shadow Ball. Sleep Powder could disable it. Actually Venusaur mega has speed 100... Gholdengo can't be put to sleep by... it can. Good as Gold blocks status moves that target... Good as Gold prevents status moves targeting it? Good as Gold blocks status moves aimed at it (like Thunder Wave, Spore) — actually Good as Gold prevents the opponent's status moves from affecting it (it blocks moves like Leer, Growl, Thunder Wave, Sleep Powder?). Good as Gold: "prevents the Pokémon from being affected by status moves used by opponents" — yes, Good as Gold blocks moves like Sleep Powder? Let me recall: Good as Gold blocks stat-lowering/status-inflicting moves targeting it — it blocks moves like Sleep Powder? Actually Good as Gold makes Gholdengo immune to "status moves" used by the opponent — it blocks moves like Sleep Powder, Spore, Thunder Wave, Will-O-Wisp, Growl, etc. Yes, Good as Gold blocks all status moves targeting it. So Sleep Powder fails. Then Venusaur can't do much: Sludge Bomb resisted, Solar Beam neutral (Steel/Ghost — Grass hits both neutrally? Ghost: Grass neutral; Steel: not very effective... Steel resists Grass? Grass effectiveness vs Steel: 1x? Type chart: Grass on Steel = 1x? Steel resists: Poison, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Steel, Grass? Steel resists Grass? No — Steel resists: Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Steel, Dragon, Fairy? Steel resists Grass? Let's recall: Steel defensive: resists Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Steel, Dragon, Fairy — actually Steel resists many. Grass vs Steel: Steel resists Grass? Hmm, Poison is not very effective vs Steel. Grass vs Steel... In type chart, Grass is not very effective against... Poison, Fire, Flying, Bug, Steel, Dragon. Yes, Grass is resisted by Steel. So Solar Beam does 0.5x to Gholdengo. So Venusaur should switch. Best switch: Torkoal? Torkoal sets sun, but Gholdengo threatens with Make It Rain. Kingambit scarf? Gholdengo's Make It Rain is super effective vs... Steel vs Steel = resisted? Make It Rain (Steel) vs Kingambit (Dark/Steel): Steel resisted. Kingambit resists Gholdengo's STABs (Steel resisted by Steel, Ghost hits Dark super effectively though — Shadow Ball 2x vs Dark). Hmm. Gholdengo likely uses Nasty Plot or Make It Rain. Against Venusaur, Make It Rain would do big damage. Switch to Garchomp? Shadow Ball super effective? Ghost vs Dragon neutral. Make It Rain vs Garchomp: Steel vs Dragon... Steel is not very effective vs... hmm Steel effectiveness: not very effective vs Fire, Water, Electric, Steel. Neutral vs Dragon. Garchomp is immune to... nothing relevant. Rotom-Wash resists Steel (Make It Rain) and takes Shadow Ball neutrally (Electric/Water, Ghost neutral). Rotom is a good switch. But opponent might nasty plot. Kingambit: Shadow Ball 2x, Make It Rain 0.5x. Risky. Rotom-Wash is a safe switch: resists Steel, Levitate irrelevant. I'd switch to rotomwash. But note torkoal at 72.9% - switching in Torkoal sets sun and its Fire typing resists nothing of Gholdengo... Fire resists Steel (Make It Rain 0.5), Fire takes Shadow Ball neutral. Torkoal low speed though. Rotom-Wash seems best overall as a defensive pivot with good bulk. Actually Gholdengo Make It Rain: Steel vs Water = 0.5x? Steel not very effective vs Water? Steel's not very effective vs Fire, Water, Electric, Steel. Yes 0.5x. Shadow Ball neutral. Rotom good. Alternatively Venusaur could use Sludge Bomb for chip. But being slower? Venusaur is faster (100 vs 84). Sludge Bomb does resisted damage (~20%?). Then take Make It Rain for heavy damage. Switching better. Switch to rotomwash.
Incident report
[INVALID] 'SWITCH: rotomwash' is not a legal action. Default move played. Original reasoning: Venusaur can't touch Gholdengo: Good as Gold blocks Sleep Powder, and both STABs are resisted. Switching into Rotom-Wash, whose Water typing resists Make It Rain and takes Shadow Ball neutrally, keeps momentum safely.
- Turn 7Claude Haiku 5.5 used
ShadowballGholdengo outspeeds Venusaur, and Venusaur is at 3% HP, so any damaging hit finishes it. Make It Rain would lower Gholdengo's Sp. Atk again, and Thunderbolt is resisted by Grass. Shadow Ball is neutral with no drawback.

Venusaur is at 3% HP, so basically any attack from Gholdengo finishes it off regardless of type effectiveness - Shadow Ball, Make It Rain, or Thunderbolt would all work since even a resisted hit should be enough at that HP level.
MiMo V2.6 Flash usedSleeppowderVenusaur outspeeds Gholdengo but anything it throws is either resisted (Sludgebomb) or unlikely to KO at 90% HP; Sleep Powder is the only line that actually stops Gholdengo from picking up the KO, and the speed advantage means we move first. Taking the 75% accuracy roll is the deciding factor over switching, since Venusaur at 6 HP is otherwise dead weight.
Reasoning trace (257 words)
Venusaur at 6 HP, +1 spa. Opponent Gholdengo at -2 spa. Venusaur is faster (spe 100 vs 84). Sludgebomb at +1 vs Gholdengo 90% — might not KO; Gholdengo defense 95, spD 91. +1 sludgebomb from167 spa... vs -2 spa doesn't matter for our damage. Gholdengo resists? Steel resists poison? No — Steel is not resistant to Poison actually, Steel resists Poison... wait, Steel resists Poison (yes, Steel resists Poison attacks). Ghost doesn't. So sludgebomb is resisted (0.5x). Gholdengo resists sludgebomb heavily. Solarbeam — Grass vs Steel/Ghost: Steel resists Grass? No, Steel doesn't resist Grass. Grass hits neutral on Gholdengo? Steel is neutral to Grass, Ghost neutral. So Solarbeam neutral. At +1 spa 167, solarbeam 120 BP vs 91 spD... should do decent but Gholdengo at 90% HP — likely not KO. Sleep Powder 75% accuracy — if hits, puts Gholdengo to sleep, huge tempo. But it's faster already? Venusaur speed 100 vs 84, yes faster. Sleep would let us live. Alternatively switch to preserve Venusaur. But Venusaur at 6 HP has little value... sleep powder value: if sleep lands, Gholdengo asleep, we get free turns. But Gholdengo at -2 spa with makeitrain probably can't kill Venusaur anyway? -2 makeitrain 120 BP from 133 spa →66.5 effective spa vs 122 spD... still kills6 HP easily. So Venusaur will die unless we sleep it. Best: sleeppowder.75% accuracy risk. Alternatively switch to a resist and preserve Venusaur for death fodder later. Actually Venusaur with +1 and sleep could sweep... but at 6 HP any hit kills. I'll go sleeppowder.
MiMo V2.6 Flash switched toGarchompGholdengo is at -2 SpA, so even Shadow Ball won't threaten a switch-in much. Garchomp is faster than Gholdengo (169 vs 84) and Earthquake is super effective against Steel/Ghost, likely scoring a knockout next turn while its Focus Sash stays intact as insurance.
Reasoning trace (138 words)
We need to choose between switching Torkoal (72.9%) or Garchomp (100%, focus sash, rough skin). Gholdengo is at -2 SPA with Shadow Ball (80 BP, effectively 40 BP after -2... actually -2 = half, so 40 BP equivalent) and Make It Rain at -2. Garchomp is Dragon/Ground — neutral to both Shadow Ball and Steel. Garchomp has focus sash intact, rough skin. Opponent is at 80% HP with Life Orb. Garchomp outspeeds (169 vs 84). Garchomp can Earthquake — Gholdengo is Steel/Ghost, weak to Ground (2x). Garchomp EQ would knock out Gholdengo easily at 80% HP. So switching Garchomp gives us an immediate knockout next turn. Torkoal would come in at 72.9%, Torkoal has low speed, sun... Torkoal would take a hit but not KO'd probably, but Garchomp is the better offensive answer with sash intact. Switch Garchomp.

ShadowballThunderbolt is useless into Ground-type Garchomp, and we outspeed it with Gholdengo (136 vs 102). Make It Rain hits harder but drops our Special Attack again from -2, which we can't afford in a long fight. Shadow Ball is neutral, has no drawback, and keeps our damage output stable.
Reasoning trace (73 words)
I'm checking matchup details: Gholdengo at -2 SpA against Garchomp, who's slower, figuring out whether Make It Rain's steel typing is neutral or resisted against Garchomp's Dragon/Ground typing. Shadow Ball is safer with no drawback, hitting Garchomp neutrally for 80 BP, while Thunderbolt is useless due to Garchomp's ground immunity. Make It Rain at 120 BP still likely outdamages Shadow Ball despite further lowering SpA, especially since Gholdengo is running Life Orb.
MiMo V2.6 Flash usedEarthquakeGarchomp outspeeds Gholdengo (169 vs 84 speed) and Earthquake is super effective against its Steel typing. Even at 80% HP, Gholdengo should go down to a 100 BP STAB-boosted hit from Garchomp's 182 Attack, and its -2 Shadow Ball can't threaten back meaningfully.
Reasoning trace (68 words)
Garchomp outspeeds Gholdengo (169 vs 84). Earthquake super effective vs Steel/Ghost? Ghost is immune to... no, Ground hits Steel super effective, Ghost neutral. So EQ is 2x. Gholdengo at 80% HP. Garchomp ATK 182, no intimidate. Should KO? Gholdengo DEF 95 base. Likely a KO or close. Gholdengo at -2 spa, Shadow Ball would be weak anyway. Garchomp has focus sash. Earthquake is the play — likely knockout.
Claude Haiku 5.5 switched toIncineroarGholdengo has fainted, so the only legal action is switching in Incineroar. It takes the hit from the opposing Garchomp and can answer with Flare Blitz or Parting Shot afterward.

Switching to Incineroar is the only legal move here, so that's the decision.

PartingshotGarchomp's Earthquake is super effective against Incineroar, and Flare Blitz is resisted by Dragon. Parting Shot drops Garchomp's Attack again and switches Incineroar out for a safer teammate, such as Sinistcha, which resists Ground.
Reasoning trace (82 words)
Checking Incineroar's Flare Blitz against this Garchomp - Fire is resisted by Dragon, so even with STAB it's only neutral-ish damage against Garchomp's 108 HP and 95 defense at -1 attack stage. Considering Parting Shot to drop Garchomp's attack further while pivoting Incineroar out, but Garchomp's Earthquake is super effective against Fire-types so staying in is risky. Weighing switch options: Kingambit and Archaludon are both weak to Ground, while Sinistcha's Grass typing actually resists Earthquake, making it a safer pivot target.
MiMo V2.6 Flash usedEarthquakeIncineroar's Fire moves are resisted by Garchomp's Dragon typing, and my Focus Sash is still intact, so I can stay in. Earthquake is only at -1 from Intimidate but still deals solid damage to the physically frail Incineroar, while Dragon Claw is weaker. The deciding factor is the favorable matchup—no need to risk the bench.
Reasoning trace (249 words)
Incineroar at 90% HP, Garchomp at -1 attack. Earthquake at -1 vs Incineroar... probably not enough for KO. Fake out breaks sash first. Switching to Torkoal seems safe but Torkoal weak to flareblitz. Gholdengo is a good answer - but only switch options listed is torkoal. Legal actions only offer Torkoal switch. Switching to Torkoal: Fake Out does little, Torkoal sets sun... but FlareBlitz hurts Torkoal. Actually Torkoal has high defense. Then Torkoal can Eruption or willowisp. Alternatively just Earthquake - at -1 with 182 atk, vs 90% Incineroar... Incineroar bulk ~ 95 HP/90 Def. -1 EQ does maybe 50-60%. Not KO. Incineroar FlareBlitz would hurt Garchomp badly (sash breaks though, focus sash keeps at 1HP). Switching to Torkoal loses sun opportunity? Torkoal's drought sets sun. Then FlareBlitz resisted? No, sun weakens fire moves by 50%? Actually sun strengthens fire. Torkoal takes more from FlareBlitz. Hmm. Switch to Torkoal: Fake Out breaks nothing (Torkoal full...72%). Then next turn Torkoal can Eruption at full-ish HP or willowisp. But Incineroar faster? Torkoal speed 40, Incineroar 60. Incineroar faster, FlareBlitz kills Torkoal probably. Better: keep Garchomp, use earthquake. Even at -1 it does significant damage. Garchomp has sash so survives flareblitz... but then sash down. Actually FlareBlitz from Incineroar to Garchomp - Garchomp 185 HP, resisted? No, Fire not very effective vs Dragon/Ground? Fire vs Ground is neutral, Dragon resists fire. So FlareBlitz is 0.5x resisted. Garchomp takes maybe 40-50%. So EQ is fine. Garchomp stays healthy with sash intact. Decision: earthquake.

ProtectGarchomp is faster (102 vs 80), so it will move before Incineroar acts. Its Earthquake should still knock out my 89 HP Incineroar, so Parting Shot and Flare Blitz would not get to act in time. Protect blocks this hit and keeps Incineroar alive while Garchomp's Attack stays at -2.
Reasoning trace (144 words)
My Incineroar is at 89/202 against a full-health Garchomp whose attack and special attack have both dropped, so its Earthquake—while still super effective—won't hit as hard as usual. I'm weighing whether to go for Flare Blitz on Garchomp given those lowered stats. With Garchomp's attack now at -2 after the parting shot, its EQ damage drops substantially from before, maybe around 122, which would still knock out Incineroar at 89 HP if unprotected. Protecting this turn buys a turn but Incineroar still faces lethal EQ afterward, while Flare Blitz only does minor resisted damage back to Garchomp. Parting Shot would push Garchomp to -3 attack and swap Incineroar out safely, but since Garchomp is faster it would hit first anyway, so the switch wouldn't prevent the knockout this turn. That leaves Protect as the only real option to avoid losing Incineroar right now.
MiMo V2.6 Flash usedSwordsdanceGarchomp is at -2 Attack, so Earthquake won't knock out the 44% Incineroar. The opponent just used Parting Shot and likely will again or switch, giving a free turn to Swords Dance and reset the attack drops.
Reasoning trace (76 words)
Garchomp is at -2 attack, Incineroar at 44%. Earthquake at -2 won't KO. But swordsdance brings to -1... Actually opponent will likely Parting Shot again or switch. Let me think: Swordsdance to reset -2 to 0 would let next EQ KO. But Incineroar may Parting Shot again lowering stats. Actually opponent's Incineroar likely uses Parting Shot or switches. Swordsdance is setup opportunity. Garchomp has focus sash intact so it survives a hit. Swordsdance is the play.

PartingshotFlare Blitz is resisted by Garchomp's Dragon typing, and Incineroar at 89 HP is likely to be KO'd by a boosted Earthquake. Parting Shot lowers Garchomp's Attack and switches Incineroar out to a healthier teammate, such as Sinistcha, which takes Earthquake well.
Reasoning trace (89 words)
Incineroar is at 89/202 HP against a Garchomp at full health with boosted attack from Swords Dance. I'm checking the Earthquake matchup against Incineroar's Fire/Dark typing to see if it's neutral damage. Flare Blitz back at Garchomp is only neutral damage since Fire isn't super effective against Dragon or Ground. I'm weighing whether Parting Shot is the better play here, dropping Garchomp's stats while switching Incineroar out to a teammate, and comparing how Kingambit, Sinistcha, or Archaludon would each handle an incoming Earthquake given their typings and bulk.
MiMo V2.6 Flash usedSwordsdanceautopilotReasoning trace (992 words)
Garchomp is at +2 attack after Swords Dance minus... wait, actually boosts show SPA: -1 only. The atk +2 from SD, but atk -1 from Intimidate and -1 from Parting Shot... Actually the state shows only SPA: -1, so atk is +2 (net: SD +2, Intimidate -1, Parting Shot -1... that would be 0). Hmm, but the display shows only SPA: -1, meaning attack boosts are gone/reset? Actually Parting Shot lowers atk and spa. Intimidate lowered atk. SD raised atk by 2. Net atk:0. But display shows no atk boost, consistent with net 0. Wait, but turn 10: Incineroar used Protect, Garchomp used Swords Dance (+2). Before that turn 9, Parting Shot lowered Garchomp's atk and spa by1, and Incineroar switched out... but then Incineroar came back in turn 10? Actually Incineroar used Protect on turn 10, so it stayed. Hmm, Parting Shot switches out, but the log shows Incineroar used Parting Shot turn 9 and then turn 10 used Protect — so it came back in later (not shown in log, or maybe it stayed). Anyway, Garchomp at effectively +0 atk (if net 0), with focus sash intact, facing Incineroar at 44% HP. Actually, wait — the display says Boosts: [SPA: -1] only. So atk is neutral. With neutral atk Garchomp, Earthquake vs Incineroar: Garchomp ATK 182 (raw), Incineroar HP 44% of presumably 295-ish... Base95 HP, likely ~300 HP. 44% ≈ 130 HP. Earthquake at neutral: Garchomp 182 atk, Incineroar def (base 90, maybe ~190 def). Rough calc: 100 BP * (182/190 ratio ~ near 1) * STAB 1.5 * super effective 2 → likely55-65% of Incineroar's max HP. At 44%, it should knock out. Actually let's estimate: Earthquake neutral effective power with STAB+SE: roughly 100*1.5*2 = 300 effective. Damage formula ~ (2*50/5+2)*300*182/190/250≈ 22*300*0.383/250 ≈ 22*0.46≈ 10.1... let me redo. Level50: damage = ((2*50/5+2)*BP*A/D)*... /50 +2, then *2 for SE, *1.5 STAB. (2*50/5 + 2) = 22. 22 * 100 * (182/190) = 22*100*0.958 = 2107. /50 = 42.1 +2 = 44.1. *1.5 STAB = 66.2. *2 SE = 132.3. That's vs base HP ~300 → 132/300 ≈ 44%. Hmm, exactly around 44% — so likely a knockout, close. Incineroar at 44% HP. Also Fire resists... no, Fire doesn't resist Ground. Fire/Dark — Ground hits neutrally (Fire not weak/resist Ground; Dark neither). So it's neutral, not super effective! Wait, I computed *2 SE incorrectly. Ground vs Fire: neutral. Ground vs Dark: neutral. So no SE multiplier. Redo: 22 * 100 * 0.958 /50 + 2 = 44.1. *1.5 STAB = 66. vs300 HP = 22%. Not enough to KO at 44%. Hmm. Dragon Claw: 80 BP, STAB, neutral. 22*80*0.958/50+2 = 35.3 *1.5 = 52.9 → ~18%. So neither KOs directly at neutral attack. Hmm. But wait — is Garchomp's attack really neutral? Let's recount. Turn 8: Intimidate → atk -1. Turn 9: Garchomp used EQ, Incineroar used Parting Shot → atk -1, spa -1. So atk at -2, spa -1... wait but also does Intimidate apply once? Turn 8 Intimidate: atk -1. Turn 9 Parting Shot: atk -1, spa -1 → atk -2, spa -1. Turn 10: Swords Dance → atk +2 → net atk 0, spa -1. Display: Boosts: [SPA: -1] — consistent with atk net 0. So neutral atk. Earthquake does ~22% to a full-HP Incineroar, meaning ~50% at current 44% HP... wait no. 66 damage out of 300 max HP = 22% of max HP. Incineroar at 44% max HP → 22% < 44%, doesn't KO. Hmm, but wait — Incineroar at 44% and earthquake does 22% of max. Not a KO. Hmm, but maybe my estimates are off; def stats matter. Actually in these arena sims, the base stats shown for opponent are base stats, and my Garchomp's raw ATK is 182 (likely corresponding to base 130 with EVs at level 50... base 130 → ~157 without investment? Actually 182 suggests high investment + adamant-ish? Hmm.) Alternatively, maybe attack is +2? Let's reconsider: The boost display shows only SPA: -1. If atk were 0, it wouldn't show. So atk is 0. Hmm, but maybe Parting Shot... after Parting Shot Incineroar switches out. Then how did Incineroar come back turn 10? Log for turn 9 doesn't show a switch-in, and turn 10 Incineroar used Protect. Maybe log is incomplete. Anyway. The deciding factor: Garchomp is slower? No, Garchomp SPE 169 vs Incineroar base 60 — Garchomp much faster. Options: Swords Dance again to get +2, then EQ would do ~44% → KO. But Incineroar might use Flare Blitz, Fake Out (only first turn — it's not first turn out... actually Fake Out works on the first turn the Pokemon is out; Incineroar has been out 2 turns, so no Fake Out), or Parting Shot again. If I Swords Dance and Incineroar uses Parting Shot, I lose boost again. If Incineroar uses Flare Blitz, Garchomp takes big damage (Fire SE vs... Garchomp Dragon/Ground — Fire neutral, but Flare Blitz is strong; Garchomp 105 SpD/115 Def, HP 185). Flare Blitz from115 atk base... could do50-70%. Focus sash intact though. Alternatively use Earthquake now for ~22-25% — Incineroar survives at ~20%, then it can Parting Shot or attack. Hmm, actually let's reconsider damage numbers more carefully. Maybe my damage estimate is too low. In gen9, level 50 damage calc: ((2*50/5 + 2) * BP * A/D)/50 + 2. A/D: Garchomp raw ATK 182. Incineroar def: base 90, typical defensive EVs → maybe ~180-190 at level 50. So ratio ~1. 22 * 100 * 1 = 2200, /50 = 44, +2 = 46, *1.5 (STAB) = 69. Wait earlier I had 44 before STAB? Let me redo: 22*100*(182/190) = 22*100*0.958 = 2107.6. /50 = 42.15. +2 = 44.15. ×1.5 = 66.2. Neutral. So ~66 damage. Incineroar max HP: base 95, likely ~310-330 with HP EVs at level 50 (base 95 → ~200 uninvested... actually base 95 HP at level 50 with 252 HP EVs ≈ 210? Let's compute: HP = (2*base*50/100 +

PartingshotGarchomp is at +1 Attack and outspeeds Incineroar, and Earthquake hits Incineroar super effectively. Flare Blitz is resisted by Dragon and cannot knock out a full-health Garchomp. Parting Shot lowers its Attack and Special Attack and lets Incineroar switch out for a safer answer such as Sinistcha.
Reasoning trace (171 words)
Opponent's Garchomp is at full HP with its attack boosted from Swords Dance stacking, while its special attack is dropped, and our Incineroar is sitting at 89/202 HP. I'm checking whether Garchomp's Earthquake can threaten Incineroar given these stat changes. Earthquake would hit Incineroar for 2x since Fire is weak to Ground, and Garchomp outspeeds at 102 to 80. Flare Blitz back only does resisted damage since Garchomp is part Dragon, so it's not a reliable knockout option. I'm also weighing whether switching makes sense—Parting Shot would let them bring in a teammate after dropping our stats, and I'm checking how Kingambit or Archaludon would matchup against Garchomp's typing, especially since Archaludon's Steel typing is doubly weak to Earthquake. Sinistcha should handle Garchomp well since Grass resists Ground, cutting Earthquake's damage in half, and its Ghost-typing means Garchomp has no good coverage against it. Since Parting Shot is a legal move that lets Incineroar debuff and pivot to a safer teammate, that's the best choice here—I'll go with Parting Shot.

Garchomp at +1 ATK (after SD at +2 then Parting Shot -1... actually started +2, now +1). Incineroar at 44% HP, 100 HP total → 44 HP. Earthquake at +1 with 182 ATK vs Incineroar 90 DEF... definitely knocks out. But Incineroar could Protect again or Parting Shot. Still, EQ is best — if it switches to sinistcha/archaludon/kingambit, damage is still decent. Actually opponent might switch to sinistcha (Grass/Ghost) which resists... but Incineroar likely parting shots out. Just use earthquake — likely knockout if stays in, and Garchomp has focus sash for safety.
